Cobra Kai Season 5 Not the End of the Fan-Favorite Series
Cobra Kai producer Josh Heald says season 5 is not the end of the show. Set 34 years after Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) defeats Johnny (William Zabka) in the 1984 All-Valley Tournament at the end of The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai has become a massive success for Netflix after the streaming service scooped up the series from YouTube Premium.
Ahead of its season 4 premiere, Cobra Kai was renewed by Netflix for another installment, which will not be the last.
Speaking with Screen Rant, Heald says that Cobra Kai season 5 is not the end of the series. When asked how much story is left to tell, Heald confirmed there is more Cobra Kai to come beyond season 5. Revealing that season 5 is “another enormous season,” Heald teases the upcoming season will unfold events fans haven’t seen before on the show.
“We have more beyond season 5,” Heald said. “We are not writing to the end of the series in season 5 right now. We can’t believe we’ve filmed two seasons of the show this year. In our minds, it’s crazy to believe how far ahead of the story we are than what the audience has seen so far. Season 5 is another enormous season with a lot of new flavors and a lot of things that you haven’t seen before yet on the show. And it’s not the end.”
Cobra Kai season 4 debuts on Netflix on December 31.
