The cover and solicitation for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #31 features a villain from Marvel Studios’ Black Widow as the couple’s third wheel.
One of the central villains in Marvel Studios’ Black Widow has their sights set on ruining a date night between Miles Morales and Starling.
CBR has an exclusive look at the cover and solicitation for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #31 by writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Christopher Allen. The cover by Taurin Clarke features Miles Morales in his new costume (designed by Chase Conley), preparing for a liplock with Starling, who is the granddaughter of Spider-Man villain Vulture. However, the bottom of the cover shows Taskmaster aiming his bow and arrow with the two lovebirds directly in his sights.
The new suit will make its debut in the previous issue, Miles Morales: Spider-Man #30, which serves as Miles Morales’ 10th-anniversary issue. “A who’s who of Miles Morales Spider-Creators” will gather to tell their stories, including the creative minds behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and his co-creator, Sara Pichelli.
Starling made her debut in 2019’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man #5, encountering the young web-slinger during a confrontation with some of Tombstone’s henchmen. Though she’s related to a nefarious member of Peter Parker’s rogues gallery, that won’t keep Miles from asking her out on a proper date. For now, it’s a mystery as to why Taskmaster has taken an interest in the couple. He could be aiming for Miles, or perhaps he’s been hired to put a hit out on Starling.
