Bitmap Books, famous for its visual compendiums on consoles like the Amiga, NES, SNES, and Atari, has announced its latest effort: The King of Fighters: The Ultimate History.
The book will be officially licensed, allowing Bitmap Books full access to SNK’s archives of illustrations an artwork, as well as brand new anecdotes and stories from key members of the development team. Coming in at 544 pages in length, it’s sure to be the go-to resource for fans of The King of Fighters.
Pre-orders will launch on Bitmap Books’ website on May 9th with shipping starting on May 23rd. The book will come in two flavours: the standard edition hardback at £34.99, and the “ALL-STAR” edition at £54.99.
The ALL-STAR edition will be limited to 3000 copies and will come complete with a heavy-board slipcase displaying 16 touch-panels that emit each character’s voice when pressed. It will also come included with five A4 art prints from the games along with a postcard featuring brand new artwork from Eisuke Ogura, created specifically for this edition.
