Battlefield Mobile Appears on Google Play Store, Public Testing Starting Soon

[ad_1]

Information about Battlefield Mobile is now available on the Google Play Store, and pre-registration for testing the game is expected to begin soon.

Electronic Arts (EA) is developing a mobile game for its popular first-person shooter franchise Battlefield, and testing for the game is expected to begin soon.

Details about Battlefield Mobile are now available on the Google Play Store, and the official description reads, “Rally your squad and lead the charge! The Battlefield™ franchise has arrived on mobile with all your favorite FPS combat, superior teamplay, and genre-defining destruction you’ve come to expect from Battlefield, now more thrilling than ever.” The game is still in development, but initial testing will start this fall in Indonesia and the Philippines before expanding into other regions.

When testing for Battlefield Mobile is ready to launch in a new region, pre-registration will become available on the game’s Google Play Store page, allowing interested players to sign-up to be a part of the test group. However, spots are limited and not all players who pre-register will be given access to the game, but they will be notified about later releases.

It is important to note that the playtest will only be available for phones running Android 7.0 and up; however, the final launch of Battlefield Mobile will support more devices and models. Moreover, all progress, including any collectible cosmetics or other unlockables that players acquire, will be wiped at the end of the testing period.

Battlefield Mobile is being developed by Industrial Toys, which is an American mobile game developer and publisher and a subsidiary of EA. The company was founded in January 2012, and so far only has two games to its name: the first-person shooter Midnight Star and its sequel Midnight Star: Renegade. However, Industrial Toys’ CEO is Alex Seropian, a veteran of the video game industry and one of the original co-founders of Bungie, the studio behind the iconic Halo, Marathon and Myth video game franchises.

While the developers intend the final mobile game to feel like any other Battlefield title, the version of Battlefield Mobile that will be released during the testing period will limit players to only the Grand Bazaar map and the classic game mode, Conquest. Announcements will be made prior to the game’s official launch about what content and features will be available in its final version. However, it has already been confirmed that Battlefield Mobile will not include cross-play with any PC or console versions of other Battlefield games and will have its own Battle Passes.

Battlefield Mobile isn’t the only upcoming game in the franchise; Battlefield 2042 will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 22.
