Batman and Superman’s Nemesis Team Up, Bat Family Event Lead DC’s Releases Next Week

[ad_1]

Batman features a team-up with Superman’s greatest enemy, while the Bat-Family deals with Gotham City’s new Arkham Tower in Detective Comics.

In this week’s DC Comics releases, Bruce Wayne is about to team up with Superman’s nemesis: Lex Luthor.

Batman #119 marks the second issue of writer Joshua Williamson’s tenure on the title, which kicked off with the return of Batman Inc. and revealed that the group’s new bankroller is none other than the villainous tech billionaire. One of the more recent appearances of Luthor was in Superman: Son of Kal-El 2021 Annual #1, where he interacted civilly with Jon Kent as Superman for the first time, but also displayed a number of wicked tendencies like extortion and murder. To solve a murder mystery around Batman Inc. and a new foe called Abyss, the solicitation for the upcoming issue teases that Bruce will have to join forces with Luthor. Meanwhile, the Bat-Family will have their hands full without Batman around.

If you are a fan of Detective Comics, you have a good amount of reading ahead of you. Detective Comics #1047 starts off “The Tower,” a 12-part story that will feature the release of a new issue every week through March when its conclusion arrives in Detective Comics #1058. The story will focus on the new Arkham Tower in Gotham City, which replaced its predecessor, Arkham Asylum, after a gas attack and explosion resulted in the facility’s destruction during Infinite Frontier #0. The Bat-Family and Deb Donovan will work to uncover the secrets of Arkham Tower, without the aid of Bruce while he is away in Batman. “The Tower” will be written by Mariko Tamaki with art by Ivan Reis, with the ongoing backup story, “House of Gotham,” written by Matthew Rosenberg and illustrated by Fernando Blanco.

Other titles releasing this week include Justice League Incarnate #3, Superman: Son of Kal-El #6, Crush & Lobo‘s final issue and more, which can all be found — covers and solicitations — alphabetically below.
