Arrowverse: 10 Characters Who Belong In Other Series

[ad_1]

When Smallville ended in 2011, it left a superhero-shaped void on television. When Arrow premiered a year later, it exceeded expectations. Arrow was gritty, serious and grounded. The characters were deep and entertaining, and evolved with meaningful arcs. 10 years later, Arrow has spawned the “Arrowverse” and many more TV series.

With the introduction of Barry Allen/The Flash, the world of Arrow became a little less grounded, introducing superpowers, time travel and other universes. One of those universes featured Supergirl who, along with her cousin, introduced aliens and other worlds. Suddenly, the Arrowverse was enormous, full of amazing characters. Some of these characters would succeed in the world’s of other hit TV shows.

10 The Monitor In What If?

The Arrowverse tackled arguably the biggest event in comic book history: Crisis On Infinite Earths. It was a huge undertaking. The combined efforts of CW superhero shows pulled off an entertaining crossover, which featured some fun guest appearances like Burt Ward and Kevin Conroy. One of the key players of Crisis is the Monitor, a cosmic being who travels the multiverse.

A similar character exists in Marvel Comics – The Watcher. The Watcher and the Monitor possess similar abilities. Given their shared interest in the differences between universes, the Monitor would make a perfect companion to the Watcher as he traverses the multiverses of the What If? series.

9 Kara Danvers In Powerless

Kara Danvers in Supergirl

After an unexpected disaster, Supergirl sees Kara Danvers unleash her superhero powers to save civilians. Powerless existed in a nondescript DC Universe. It poked fun at the concepts of superheroes. Powerless was primarily set in the offices of a company that handled “superhero insurance” for when superhero and villain battles caused property damage.

Powerless was fun, quirky and lighthearted, qualities that Kara Danvers possesses. Kara seems like she would be a good fit for this universe. Her adventures as Supergirl could cause some of the damage the company handles, and she could work for the company.

8 Laurel Lance In Scream Queens

Katie Cassidy as Black Canary on Arrow

Katie Cassidy delivered some amazing performances as Laurel Lance in Arrow. Whether the scene called for intensity, drama or heartbreak, she nailed it. The TV series Scream Queens follows a desired sorority house. A string of murders causes more drama than usual at the Kappa House.

Cassidy is more than familiar with dramatic stories thanks to her role on Gossip Girl. Laurel would be quick to end the drama on her own terms. And with the power of sonic screams, she’d be a more than appropriate addition to a series titled Scream Queens.

7 Eobard Thawne In Quantum Leap

Reverse Flash Eobard Thawne Harrison Wells The Flash TV Show Season 1

Eobard Thawne, AKA the Reverse Flash, is a man of many faces on The Flash. He stole the appearance of Harrison Wells in order to create a Particle Accelerator ahead of schedule and get closer to Barry Allen. He has switched his appearance back and forth many times throughout The Flash and Arrowverse crossovers, played by both Tom Cavanagh and Matt Letscher.

The science fiction series Quantum Leap follows the adventures of Sam Beckett as he is forced into a different person’s body each week. Sam is aided by a holographic companion whenever these switches occur. Given Thawne’s experience with body-snatching, he could make a great advisor.

6 John Diggle In The Mandalorian

John Diggle was first hired as a bodyguard to watch over and protect Oliver Queen after Oliver miraculously returned from being stranded on a lost island. Diggle got more than he bargained for when his client turned out to be a vigilante. Since then, Diggle’s role and screen time in Arrow grew. He would eventually play key roles in all of the Arrowverse crossovers.

Going back to his roots as a bodyguard, Diggle could fill in to watch the Child if the Mandalorian were to ever require a week off. Grogu can’t be any more of a pain to look after than Oliver. Although, he does have access to the Force which may complicate things.

5 Oliver Queen In Arrested Development

Oliver Queen in his civilian identity in Arrow

The Queens certainly have their fair share of family drama. Oliver and his father’s disappearance. The reveal of Thea’s true birth father. Oliver’s relationships with both Laurel and Sara Lance. And, of course, the eventual murder of Moira Queen. Arrow has delivered both superhero action and intense emotional drama for its characters.

When it comes to rocky dynamics, another family comes to mind: the Bluths. While the two universes couldn’t be more different, the main families of Arrow and Arrested Development learn to put aside their drama and differences to support each other. Oliver Queen could provide a great comedic foil for the Bluths and would probably still require his bow.

4 Thea Queen In Riverdale

Arrow Thea Queen

Over the course of Arrow‘s 8 seasons, Thea would grow into a mature, responsible hero. During Arrow‘s first season though, Thea was entirely irresponsible, childish and selfish. Thea put her own rebellious wants and feelings above her mother and brother’s. Her storyline felt very separate from Oliver’s. Her arc felt like it belonged on a show like Riverdale.

Her need to defy the judgement of her parents is a trait shared by most characters in Riverdale. Thea, at least the Thea of Arrow‘s earliest seasons, could easily be a student at Riverdale High. She’d be involved with nefarious plots and drama surrounding the school and its students.

3 Damien Dahrk In Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina

Arrow‘s first season was very grounded in reality. Villains used existing weapons, and fight scenes were mostly restricted to physical combat. Season two introduced superpowers with Deathstroke and the Flash. In season four, Damien Dahrk made his first full appearance, bringing dark magic with him.

Dahrk has access to magic, granting him powers like telekinesis, enhanced physical abilities, teleportation and more. He was quite the adversary for a man with a bow and arrow, but he may not fair well against other magic users. Dark magic is used all the time in Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina. Dahrk’s manipulative presence would make him a perfect evil mentor for Sabrina and her friends.

2 Felicity Smoak In Criminal Minds

Arrow Samanda Felicity

Felicity Smoak first appeared in the third episode of Arrow‘s first season. Her role was minor. She examined a laptop full of bullet holes and comedically questioned Oliver’s terrible excuses for its condition. She would eventually join Oliver and Diggle in their crime fighting adventures and fall in love with Oliver.

Felicity was the tech genius of the Arrow team. She could hack just about anything. Her expertise, coupled with the fact that she was involved with crime in her youth, make her a perfect addition to the team on Criminal Minds. She may even give resident genius Spencer Reid a run for his money.

1 John Constantine In Once Upon A Time

Matt Ryan as Constantine in the NBC show

Like Supergirl, Constantine was a DC TV property that eventually fell under the Arrowverse umbrella. John Constantine would later appear in Arrowverse crossovers, bringing a whole new world of magic and monsters with him. His methods may be unconventional, but there’s no denying that there’s no one better suited to handle dark magic.

Once Upon A Time examines classic fairy tale stories under a new lens. These classic fairy tales collide with the real, modern world. Magic and manipulation drive the drama of the series. John Constantine seems perfectly suited for Once Upon A Time. He almost exclusively deals with forbidden magic bleeding into the DC Universe.
