The worlds of Archie Comics and The CW’s Riverdale collide this May thanks to the all-new Archie Meets Riverdale crossover.
A new crossover is bringing the characters from Archie Comics face to face with the characters from Riverdale.
Written by Daniel Kibblesmith with art by Pat and Tim Kennedy, Bob Smith, Matt Herms and Jack Morelli, Archie Meets Riverdale #1 is a one-shot that blends Riverdale with the comic books that inspired the hit CW drama. “Some of the best fun we have here at Archie Comics is when we take two wildly different concepts and jam them together and watch the chaos unfold afterwards,” Archie Comics Editor-in-Chief/President Mike Pellerito said. “The cult classic Archie Meets The Punisher crossover from the 90s is a great example of taking two things that couldn’t be further apart in terms of tone and delivering a story that stands the test of time while holding true to both franchises.
“When the idea of doing a crossover between the classic versions of the Archie Comics characters with the gritty and dramatic Riverdale versions first came up, we knew we had to get someone with a great appreciation for both takes that could deliver everything we were looking for. We’re so thrilled to have Daniel Kibblesmith on board, and together with Archie veterans Pat & Tim Kennedy, they’ve put together a story that is an absolute must-have for all Archie Comics and Riverdale fans!”

Created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Riverdale premiered on The CW in 2017 and was renewed for Season 6 in February 2021. The show follows Archie Comics mainstays such as Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge as they deal with both the average and sometimes supernatural escapades events that take place in the eponymous town. The series notably shares a universe with other Archie-inspired properties, such as Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Katy Keene.
