Aquaman 2’s Patrick Wilson Shows Off His Atlantean Deadlift Strength

[ad_1]

Patrick Wilson, who plays Orm Marius / Ocean Master in the Aquaman film series, shows off his deadlifting abilities in an impressive training video.

Aquaman star Patrick Wilson showed off how he’s been training for the movie’s upcoming sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, in an Instagram post, highlighting his impressive strength.

Wilson plays Orm Marius, the former king of Atlantis and half-brother of Arthur Curry — better known as Aquaman. In the original film, Orm sought to unite the Seven Kingdoms as Ocean Master, seeking revenge against humanity for its mistreatment of the seas. He was ultimately defeated and apprehended by his half-brother. The extent of Wilson’s role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has not yet been specified, but based on the actor’s training video, he’s putting in a “lot of sweat” to revisit the role.

According to the video’s description, the actor achieved five reps of 420 pounds — an impressive feat for any deadlifter. With filming on the sequel having recently begun, Wilson’s training efforts will be visible when he begins shooting, if he hasn’t already. Wilson isn’t the only one to have entered an intensive workout regimen in anticipation of the film, as Amber Heard (who plays Mera in the film series) recently uploaded a video of her own routine.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Dolph Lundgren and Pilou Asbaek. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 16, 2022.
