Amazon Brings at Least One Familiar Element to their LOTR Series
While Amazon’s upcoming series adaptation of Lord of the Rings will not feature any of the cast from the feature films nor writer/director Peter Jackson, and has kept long time Tolkien fans skeptical with rumors of sexual content and nudity, Amazon Studios has proven that they are working to bring at least one familiar elements to the project.
Deadline is reporting that Howard Shore, who won three Oscars for his work on the Middle Earth trilogy, is in talks to compose the music for the TV series. Shore has also worked on other big projects like The Hobbit trilogy, Twilight Saga, The Departed, Philadelphia and The Silence of the Lambs.
The new series focuses on the Second Age of Middle Earth, thousands of years before the events of the Lord of the Rings. Set in a time of peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters as the confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil.
