Have you ever wanted a comprehensive set of productive apps for the original Game Boy? Then this Kickstarter might be for you. Introducing the Game Boy Productivity Suite… an “all-in-one” cartridge with apps like a clock, a note pad, and a calculator. It apparently offers a level of “privacy and security” that modern technology simply cannot compete with.

Yes, it’s all a bit of a joke, but the project has already well and truly surpassed its goal of $2,000 Canadian dollars and is estimated to be released around April next year. If you do decide to show your support, the backer tiers start off at $10 for a digital copy of the calculator app, and beyond this, you can make pledges to receive a physical version.

“Today’s professionals and academics on the go need the right tools to succeed in this economy. Never before have so many time saving tools been offered in one place like the GB Productivity Suite. If you’re looking for the edge you need to get ahead of the competition and get noticed, look no further.”

Some of the stretch goals include international localisation and a to-do list application (both of these have already been funded). If support continues there’s a “paper weight” app and “Super GamePak Enhanced” goal to reach. At the time of writing, the Kickstarter project has 36 days to go and has raised just over $4,000.
