What inspires your work?

I started playing games in the late 90’s. Our neighbor had a cassette game console. They let me play on their TV because I was taking care of their kids and walking their dogs. Games like Bomberman, Mario. Almost everyone remembers. How the game is made was something I was very curious about. But I never had a chance. Until the time passed and I was 35 years old, I always struggled with putting my affairs in order. I’ve been writing short stories but haven’t had a chance to put them together. I was inspired by many sources, but my biggest source of inspiration has been my creativity. I have always liked their styles in games such as Ori the blind forest and Hollow knight. Since I have some drawing skills, I wanted to start from somewhere and I knew that I could not make a 3D game, but I could be much more effective in a 2D game. In fact, my choice was entirely about expressing my talents in the most direct way.

Tell us about your game? What can fans expect?

Soul Passage is a game in its category that can make a difference for me. First of all, I would like to say that they should know that we cannot offer very special mechanics at the beginning stage. But we are very heavily focused on mechanics and gameplay. For me, the thing that players will enjoy and be impressed with the most is the gripping story of the game. Everyone will find a piece of themselves in Obligor’s journey to save his family. I’m a big fan of RPG games and it’s very important to me to tailor the main character to my own playing style. That’s why we’re working hard to bring this to players in Soul Passage. We put a lot of effort into keeping the main story, side stories, character development, exploration facts together in the right proportion and not being boring and not deterring at the same time. For this reason, it is fair to say that they should expect proper balance and enjoyable gameplay. At the same time, let’s not forget the creative worlds and the gripping story.

What are your goals for 2023?

2022 is our kickstarter year. I firmly believe that we will have a successful campaign in December. With the side options we offer, everyone will find a special and enjoyable package for themselves in the campaign. Right now our most important focus is to present a 90s long Gameplay trailer before Kickstarter. And if we get the opportunity, we will share a Demo game where only the entries for our maps are introduced, which we call the Minimum Valuable Product throughout the KS campaign. 2023 is our most important year, full production and a very serious work intensity are waiting for us. As we aim to meet the players in April 2024, all the important parts need to be ready. Our team will grow and we will enter a more detailed working life. Of course, at this point, the depth of the game will be proportional to our success in the KS campaign, I hope our high success will help us create a deeper gameplay and story.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to do what you do?

There are many people out there who want to make games as a hobby or professionally. My advice to everyone is very simple, have a true story or a very specific mechanic. Either of these will form a very special basis for you to set up your game. And it will help you prepare a beautiful path. If you work without being interrupted and complete your work in order without taking other tasks, you will reach the result. At the same time, don’t be afraid to be inspired, but definitely avoid copying.
