The 50th and final issue of Immortal Hulk promises an “80-page crescendo” to close out Al Ewing and Joe Bennett’s run.

On Oct. 13, writer Al Ewing and artist Joe Bennett’s Immortal Hulk reaches its grand finale with the giant-sized issue #50, which features a wraparound cover by legendary artist Alex Ross and promises a climactic end to this chapter in the Green Goliath’s story.

“The end of one of the most critically-acclaimed comic runs in recent history will arrive this October,” Marvel Comics said in its official release, explaining that Immoral Hulk #50 will “present the groundbreaking conclusion” to the years of “buildup, mystery and Gamma-powered additions to the Hulk mythology” that have been present in Ewing and Bennett’s horror-infused take on Bruce Banner thus far.

“Throughout the past 49 issues, the all-star creative team has taken the iconic Marvel hero to places no creator has dared to go — through the Green Door and beyond!” Marvel continued. “Now, they bid farewell to the Green Goliath, having redefined the character with a genre-bending exploration of both his powerful alter-ego and his humanity.”

Immortal Hulk #50 finds the Hulk “down in the Below-Place as he searches among the ghosts of the past for the answers to all his questions.” Marvel also promises that the book’s “dramatic” conclusion will “not only shed light on what’s next for Hulk but also reveal the future of the One Below All, the Green Door, the Leader, Jackie McGee, Joe Fixit and more!”

Immortal Hulk #50 is the climax of everything we’ve done in this book, an 80-page crescendo that spans over a century and contains the answers to some of the biggest questions of the run,” said Ewing. “This is how it all ends — and we think it’ll be worth the wait.”

A continuation of the original Incredible Hulk title with a supernatural spin, Immortal Hulk initially launched in June of 2018. Following the conclusion of Immortal Hulk this coming October, Marvel is set to relaunch the Hulk title with a new issue #1 in November, which will see writer Donny Cates (Venom, Crossover), artist Ryan Ottley (Amazing Spider-Man, Invincible) and colorist Frank Martin (Wolverine, King in Black) take the helm on Banner’s adventures.
