Star Wars’ New Starcruiser Reveals a Clone Wars Connection

[ad_1]

The Halcyon is a new starcruiser for the Star Wars universe, and Star Wars: Halcyon Legacy #1 reveals that it has existed for a long time.

Star Wars‘ newest starcruiser, the Halcyon, is revealed to have existed long throughout the history of the galaxy far, far away, including the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

A preview and the solicitation for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser – Halcyon Legacy #1 reveals that the “all-star cruiser” has existed as far back as the High Republic Era and was still around during the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Written by Ethan Sacks with art by Will Sliney, the present story takes place when the First Order was a concern for folks, but the book briefly flashes back to a moment set during Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In this flashback, it is revealed that the Halcyon was once the site of a lightsaber showdown between Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Sith Apprentice Asajj Ventress, with Padmé Amidala also present.

The Halcyon has clearly fared better than Anakin, Padmé and Ventress. At the book’s current point in the Star Wars timeline, most fans will recognize that Anakin became Darth Vader and later sacrificed himself to stop Emperor Palpatine in Return of the Jedi, while Padmé died shortly after giving birth to Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa in Revenge of the Sith. However, the final fate of Ventress was never shown in film or the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series, but the book Star Wars: Dark Disciple revealed that she had sacrificed herself to save Jedi Quinlan Vos from her former master, Count Dooku.

Whether Halcyon Legacy will flashback to more of The Clone Wars remains to be seen, but its solicitation does indicate that the story will be focused primarily on the High Republic Era and the years following the Empire’s defeat. In real life, the Halcyon is set to be the locale of the Walt Disney World Resort’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel. The getaway is not only described as a place to rest, but an actual two-night experience where you are immersed in a Star Wars adventure of your own.

In addition to the fact that the Halcyon has been home to a Star Wars: The Clone Wars battle, the preview illustrates many of the experiences that the resort hotel promises a recreation of, should you choose to embark on the journey. The hotel is located near the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park and will now let you start booking reservations, with the hotel opening on March 1. To catch a glimpse of what experience the hotel might provide, the preview for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser – Halcyon Legacy #1 can be found below.
