Update on the Reported Cameos in Doctor Strange 2: The Multiverse of Madness

[ad_1]

The Multiverse of Madness, starring Doctor Strange, is shaping up to be the next big MCU event. Now I’m hearing rumors about several cameos, and some of them have really piqued my interest.

For the MCU, the year 2021 was all about the multiverse; episodes like What If…? and Loki provided us vastly diverse viewpoints on some of our favorite characters, and Spider-Man: No Way Home brought together three popular Spider-Man franchises and their respective adversaries in one spot. With the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness this May, the concept will be taken even farther.

Hollywood and entertainment maven, Grace Randolph of Beyond the Trailer had this to say about the recent screening of the sequel.

In the film Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) must thwart another threat to all of humanity with the help of returning favorites Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Wong (Benedict Wong), as well as MCU relative unknown (and wildly unpopular comic character) America Chavez played by Xochitl Gomez. Hopefully it won’t be the Gabby Rivera version of the alien superhero… But there have been a few recent rumors have suggested cameos from Loki, Professor X and Deadpool, several X-Men, and even a few surprise visit from alternate versions of heroes in the MCU.

Grace Randolph also commented on some of the surprise cameos, but resisted the urge to spoil them.

But the drips keep coming, because BGR provided this updated list of all the rumored Multiverse of Madness cameo appearances that seem to fit:

  • January 6th, 2022: Black Bolt (Anson Mount)
  • December 30th, 2021: Magneto (Ian McKellen), Storm (Halle Berry), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Cyclops (James Marsden), Bruce Banner (Eric Bana), Hulk (Edward Norton), Ghost Rider (Nicholas Cage), Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire)
  • December 21st and December 27th, 2021: Several X-Men (unspecified), Mr. Fantastic (unspecified), Iron Man (unspecified), Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds); Kaecillius (Mads Mikkelsen), Emil Blonsky (Tom Roth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Mobius (Owen Wilson), Captain Carter (Hailey Atwell), Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffudd), Supreme Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Iron Man (Tom Cruise), Professor X (Patrick Stewart), The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright), Billy and Tommy Maximoff
  • December 13th, 2021: Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Professor X (Patrick Stewart)
  • November 29th, 2021: Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), Mobius (Owen Wilson)
  • November 3rd, 2021: Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Monica Rambeau’s Captain Marvel (Teyonah Parris), and Balder the Great (unspecified)

BGR also cautions readers that unlike the No Way Home plot leaks that trickled out, these Multiverse of Madness leaks could be a bit more complicated because the studio went back for extensive reshoots to tweak the story and bring in more cameos, possibly due to the success of Spider-Man at the box office. So any leaks you read that are older than October 2021 are being disregarded.

What do you think of these potential cameos? Are you looking forward to the next Doctor Strange sequel?
