Vintage Cube Is Back: December 22–January 12
Vintage Cube is back for a three-week run through January 12. To see the full cube list and the list of card changes, make sure to check out the updated Vintage Cube card list page.
All paid accounts on file as of last week’s downtime have been given a Vintage Point—good for a free entry into the Vintage Cube Draft League during this three-week run.
This is the last week to use your Vintage Point if you haven’t yet done so! Unused Vintage Points will be removed from accounts on January 12.
Limited Showcase Opens This Weekend
The penultimate events of each season, Showcase Opens allow anyone to try their hand at earning an invitation to the Showcase. Players don’t need to earn points or another qualification to enter, and because these events are Sealed, players don’t even need a deck. The winner of each Open will get an invitation to the Season 3 Showcase, and both the winner and runner-up earn invitations to the upcoming Championship on MTG Arena.
Because this event uses Modern Horizons 2 product, the entry options are 50 Event Tickets or 500 Play Points. Each Open consists of Swiss rounds followed by a single-elimination Top 8 draft.
These events are also the last chance to earn enough Leaderboard points to grab one of two At-Large invites to the Magic Online Champions Showcase.

Limited Qualifier Friday
On Friday, January 7, there will be a Innistrad: Crimson Vow Sealed Qualifier with a special start time of 2 p.m. PT (22:00 UTC). The event costs 40 QPs (Season 1), and the winner will earn an invitation to the Neon Dynasty Championship event on MTG Arena.

Magic Online Format Challenges Every Weekend
Format Challenges are the first step toward qualifying for Premier Play through your favorite Magic formats and provide excellent prizes for those looking to test their mettle in their favorite formats. Learn more about Premier Play qualification to get started today.
Magic Online‘s Format Challenges run once on Saturdays and once on Sundays for each Constructed format! On weekends featuring Showcase Challenge events, the Format Challenge that starts at either 6 a.m., 8 a.m., or 10 a.m. Pacific time is pre-empted by the Showcase Challenge—Format Challenges scheduled at other times remain in place. NOTE: Pauper and Standard Challenges are never pre-empted.

Modern Horizons 2 Return Ends January 12
It’s the season for another fan favorite: Modern Horizons 2 Draft! We’re bringing back the non-Phantom Draft League through January 5 with the same prize structure and chance to open a Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer you know and love!

- 3 Modern Horizons 2 boosters and 4 Event Tickets
- 250 Play Points
- Prizes:
- 3 Wins – 6 Modern Horizons 2 boosters, 2 MOCS Season 3 QPs, and a Competitive Trophy
- 2 Wins – 2 Modern Horizons 2 boosters
NOTE: Limited Preliminary events will use Modern Horizons 2 product until Wednesday, January 12.

- Prizes:
- 4 Wins – 750 Play Points and 40 QP

The next downtime will be Wednesday, February 9, beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until noon. All times listed are Pacific Standard time (UTC-8). This is for the release of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty.
