5 Ways Kakyoin Is The Strongest JoBro (& 5 Why It’s Okuyasu)

[ad_1]

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a hit shonen series starring a small handful of Joestar protagonists and their good friends, starting with Jonathan Joestar and his good friend Robert Speedwagon. During the Stardust Crusaders story arc, hero Jotaro Kujo had Noriaki Kakyoin as a loyal ally, and in Diamond is Unbreakable, Josuke had a friend in Okuyasu Nijimura.

Kakyoin and Okuyasu are examples of JoBros, members of a Joestar hero’s loyal squad, and both Kakyoin and Okuyasu are fan-favorite JoBros who played a key role in their respective story arcs. However, one must be stronger than the other. Kakyoin and Okuyasu can be compared in terms of their Stands’ abilities, their strategic competence, and anything else they can offer in a fight.

10 Kakyoin Is Stronger: His Stand Can Control People From Inside

Early in the Stardust Crusaders story arc, Kakyoin demonstrated a few unique abilities that took Jotaro by total surprise, and that included his ability to control people from the inside with his Stand, Hierophant Green. The human puppets can double as a hostage if need be.

In the story, Kakyoin (while possessed by DIO) took control of the school nurse and used her to attack Jotaro in a rather tricky fight. That’s a cool move, but Jotaro isn’t the sentimental type, and he knocked out the nurse without even trying to be gentle. Kakyoin lost his hostage.

9 Okuyasu Is Stronger: He Is Incredibly Tough

In a typical Stand battle, a Stand user’s physical strength and durability aren’t a major factor, but sometimes, it might. For example, Okuyasu endured many blows from Yoshikage Kira the serial killer in Diamond is Unbreakable, and he seemingly died.

However, Okuyasu showed incredible grit and got back up after being blasted half to death and helped Josuke fight back against Yoshikage. Few JoBros are as tough as an angry Okuyasu Nijimura can be.

8 Kakyoin Is Stronger: He Can Attack People With Paintings

Curiously, a handful of JoJo’s characters will demonstrate a unique ability once to take their enemies by surprise, then neglect to use those remarkable abilities ever again. An example includes Bruno Bucciarati’s ability to sense lies by tasting sweat.

Still, even if an ability is only used once, that still counts, and Kakyoin’s unique ability involves painting. He had a painting of Jotaro on hand, then altered that painting to affect the real Jotaro and caused him to fall down a long flight of stone steps. Not even Okuyasu could do that.

7 Okuyasu Is Stronger: He Has Street Smarts

Stand users must always be ready for a fight, and they should also know how to sense an enemy and get ready for battle before the enemy deals the first blow. Kakyoin is a smart Stand user, but Okuyasu has more street smarts and is used to handling fellow punks and miscreants.

This gives Okyuyasu, and Josuke for that matter, an edge when it comes to dealing with other Stand users on the street. Okuyasu has the instincts and nerve to face other Stand-using punks in battle and verbal exchanges alike.

6 Kakyoin Is Stronger: Emerald Splash Has A Long Range

Some Stands are close-range specialists, such as Star Platinum or Purple Haze, while others work best at medium to long-range, such as Aerosmith and Rat. Meanwhile, Kakyoin’s Stand, Hierophant Green, is effective at any range, and its Emerald Splash attack is a fearsome one.

Contrary to what Kakyoin says, Emerald Splash isn’t a foolproof attack, but it is still rather potent, and Hierophant Green can fling emerald-like projectiles at the enemy like shotgun pellets. Many Stands would take serious damage from this fierce attack.

5 Okuyasu Is Stronger: The Hand Can Erase Anything

The Hand from Jojo Part 4.

Okuyasu has a humanoid Stand called The Hand, and its right hand can “scrape” away anything it touches with impunity. If The Hand strikes a person, the victim may be erased from existence entirely, or at least, they’ll cleanly lose some body parts, and that will hurt a lot.

The Hand can also scrape away the surrounding terrain and use its unique ability to wipe away whatever cover the enemy Stand user might be using, such as a low wall or a parked car. Then, when The Hand gets close, the enemy is doomed.

4 Kakyoin Is Stronger: Hierophant Green Can Form Strings

Most Stands have just one form, and they don’t typically transform or mutate into anything else, with Koichi’s Echoes being something of an exception. Then there’s the matter of Hierophant Green, which typically has a humanoid body, but can unravel into a series of strings.

Kakyoin can really take his enemies by surprise when he unravels Hierophant Green into a series of ropes, and he tried this technique in the final battle against DIO in Cairo. If it weren’t for The World’s time-freezing power, Kakyoin would have had a serious advantage.

3 Okuyasu Is Stronger: The Hand Can Effectively Teleport Items

The Hand can’t literally teleport, but it can do the next best thing with its right hand. Not only can The Hand scrape away physical items such as brick walls or human flesh, but it can also scrape away empty air, and create a gap that must soon be closed.

The Hand can scrape away some air between itself and a target, and once the remaining air closes the gap, the other item is drawn closer. Okuyasu can also do this to teleport his enemy closer to him, which he did while fighting Josuke. It’s not easy to escape The Hand.

2 Kakyoin Is Stronger: He Is Rather Crafty & Insightful

The action scenes in JoJo’s are exciting not just because of the colorful Stands and excellent visual effects but also because of the creative battle strategies involved. Often, the heroes win not through the power of friendship or a last-minute powerup, but from outwitting their opponents.

Noriaki Kakyoin would know all about that, and he often outsmarted his enemies or saw right through their techniques to foil them. That’s what he did against Mannish Boy and his terrifying Death 13 Stand, and Kakyoin was the first hero to figure out the truth behind The World’s abilities.

1 Okuyasu Is Stronger: He Can Divert Projectiles

The Hand’s scraping ability is a surprisingly flexible one, and it can be nearly as flexible as Hierophant Green in many cases. For the most part, Okuyasu uses The Hand to bring his enemies closer and swipe away chunks of their flesh, but The Hand can also nullify an enemy’s ranged attacks.

The Hand can scrape away the air to alter the course of a projectile, and Okuyasu did this to spare himself and Josuke the wrath of the explosive Killer Queen. In theory, The Hand could do this to any projectile if it can move fast enough, and not even Hierophant Green could do that.
