Led by Food Network personality Geoffrey Zakarian, Cooks Vs. Cons brings in 4 contestants each episode to display their cooking skills. The audience, judges and the other competitors are unaware which 2 contestants are professional chefs and which 2 are home cooks.

In the first round, the competitor with the least successful dish is eliminated and is revealed as either an experienced chef or a convincing pretender. The second round sees the remaining 3 contenders competing in another culinary battle for the win.

9 The Great British Bake Off Focuses More On Sweet Treats Than Savory Dishes

The Great British Bake Off is a massively popular show and follows a baking competition between several nonprofessional bakers striving for success. 10-13 contestants are chosen each season and a competitor is eliminated after each round until there is only 1 baker remaining.

The Great British Bake Off has continued to bring in millions of viewers each week and has even become one of the most watched shows in the United Kingdom. Great British Bake Off has run for 12 seasons since 2010 and a 13th season is set to premiere sometime in 2022.


8 Top Chef Is A Popular Series That Launched A Cooking Show Franchise

Each season is filmed in a different location and features a lineup of cooks hoping to win a financial grand prize, which varies from $100,000 to $250,000. The team that makes the least amount of money in sales during the episode is eliminated. The team that makes the most money in the finale wins the competition along with a cash prize. The Great Food Truck Race began in 2010, and their 14th season concluded in 2021.

Beat Bobby Flay started in 2013 and has since aired 28 seasons made up of more than 350 episodes. 2 contestants engage in a cook-off against each other in order to determine who will battle against Bobby Flay. Flay has been victorious in over 60% of his battles.

Unlike several other Food Network cooking competition shows, Beat Bobby Flay is filmed in front of a live audience. Also unlike most cooking competition shows, Beat Bobby Flay is only 30 minutes as opposed to the usual 1 hour episode length.

Chopped is hosted by Ted Allen and the meals are tasted and judged by 3 culinary experts. For each round, the competitors are given a mystery box that is filled with 4 ingredients that must be used in their dishes. The last chef standing takes home a $10,000 cash prize.




3 The Next Iron Chef Shows Elite Chefs Competing For The Title Of Iron Chef

Each season of The Next Iron Chef sees talented chefs battling against each other in hopes of becoming an Iron Chef. Alton Brown and Mark Dacascos AKA “The Chairman” act as the show’s hosts. 5 chefs became Iron Chefs over the course of the show’s 5 season run.

2 Iron Chef/Iron Chef America Allows A Challenger To Face Off Against A World-Class Chef

Iron Chef America is an American remake of the hit Japanese cooking show, Iron Chef. Each episode sees a contestant choosing from a lineup of renowned chefs to challenge to a culinary battle. Each battle features an ingredient that must be included in every dish made by the chefs.

Once finished, the meals are judged based on their taste, originality, and presentation. The Food Network version of Iron Chef America ended its run in 2018 after 13 seasons consisting of over 200 episodes.


1 Cutthroat Kitchen Is A Wild Showdown Involving Sabotage

Hosted by Alton Brown, Cutthroat Kitchen began airing in 2013 and concluded in the summer of 2017. Each episode consists of 4 competitors, with all but one challenger getting eliminated over the course of 3 rounds. The contestants receive $25,000 at the beginning of Cutthroat Kitchen. Contestants can use the money to pay for their opponents to endure inconvenient sabotages.

Episodes also feature a guest judge who is not aware of the sabotages placed on the contestants. The winner gets to keep whatever money that was not used on sabotaging the other competitors.
