Justice League Infinity picks up after the events of Justice League Unlimited and makes some quietly major shifts to the DC Animated Universe.

The DC Animated Universe was an impressive shared universe of animated DC shows, connected in the same reality that evolved over the years. While the fan-favorite universe has spawned a few animated features, Justice League Unlimited was the last series to take place in that fan-favorite world. While it may have started with the solo adventures of Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, JLU took the team to an entirely new level until it went off the air in 2006.
Now, the heroes of the DCAU have returned in Justice League Infinity, and it’s been seemingly years in-universe since the DCAU ended. In that time, things have shifted in some surprisingly perfect ways, and here are some of the most notable changes that have happened since the events of Justice League Unlimited.
THE JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED’S NEW MEMBERS
The ending of Justice League Unlimited saw the titular superhero team more united and powerful than ever before. After increasing their ranks at the beginning of JLU and expanding to contend with the forces of Cadmus, the Secret Society, and even an invasion spearheaded by Darkseid, the Justice League was a massive collection of heroes. Since then, the majority of the team seems to have retained their place on the roster, with a handful of new additions as well.
Mister Miracle and Big Barda briefly appeared in the Justice League Unlimited episode “The Ties That Bind.” They came to the League for help saving Oberon, and were forced to work with The Flash. Although Barda had been teased to join the team eventually (given her place among them in the future of Batman Beyond), it appears she and her husband did so off-screen between the ending of JLU and Justice League: Infinity. Another new recruit is Blue Beetle — specifically the Ted Kord incarnation of the character, who can be seen with the team standing with Booster Gold and originally joined in a tie-in comic.

THE BALLAD OF MARTIAN MANHUNTER
One character who has not returned to the team yet though is the Martian Manhunter. After spending most of his time in Justice League and the first season of Justice League Unlimited defined by his connection to the team and role within it, he ended up departing to travel the world and find out more about himself. In the series finale of Justice League Unlimited, he revealed that he’d relocated to China and, in disguise as a regular human, had even found love. After taking part in the final battle, Martian Manhunter seemed more at peace with himself than ever before and ended the show reunited with his teammates.
Now, it turns out Martian Manhunter has resumed his global travels. Now residing in New Delhi with a new persona as the older woman Amrit. Alone at night and comfortable resuming his true appearance, Martian Manhunter has seemingly spent years traveling the world at this point. Although he senses a fight involving the League, he elects to remain uninvolved — suggesting he’s genuinely trying to move past his innate responsibility to help the team and implying he may have lost the second love he’d found while in China years earlier.

WHAT HAPPENED TO AMAZO?
Introduced in the Justice League episode “Tabula Rasa,” the Amazo robot was designed with the ability to duplicate any and every superpower of the Justice League. Initially convinced to attack the Justice League by Lex Luthor, the curious robot was eventually granted telepathy by mimicking the Martian Manhunter and ventured into space. After exploring the galaxy and becoming one of the most powerful beings in existence, it returned to Earth and found a home with Doctor Fate — until it was forced to flee the world, lest it empowers a berserk Solomon Grundy.
The Amazo robot hasn’t been seen since it departed Earth, but Justice League Infinity briefly explores its journey. Traveling the universe and becoming a legendary figure of power across the cosmos, Amazo continued to hunt for answers to the philosophical questions he couldn’t stop himself from asking. As he explored the borders of the universe, Amazo found himself before a giant pair of white doors — leading him into a quantum vortex “composed of a cosmic force beyond even his refined perception.” The strange mirror dimension ends up trapping him — and in his anger, Amazo ends up unleashing a mysterious energy that travels to Earth. The Justice League will no doubt try to investigate this event and will likely end up against Amazo once again as a result.
