[ad_1]

The number of fights in the Naruto franchise is endless. Some go on for what seems like 50 episodes and some have fans on the edge of their seats. Naruto is the protagonist of this Shonen Jump series, and viewers see him fight his way through life, sometimes with talking, sometimes with fists. His journey to become Hokage is riddled with opponents from across the Hidden villages.

However, not just Naruto gets a chance to shine in the combat category. The number of episodes of Naruto may seem daunting, but if viewers are interested in the fight scenes, there are several they should watch to see what all the hype is about.

10 Gaara vs Rock Lee May Be The Most Hyped Fight In The Original Series

Rock Lee blacked out and injured during fight with Gaara

The Gaara vs Rock Lee match just might have earned the title of the most hyped fight from the original Naruto series. Viewers are forced to sit through nine matches for this heated one of the Chunin Exams. Gaara, the jinchuriki of the One-Tails ends up winning the battle due to his impeccable defense techniques through his ability to control sand.

However, Lee refuses to go down without a fight. Rock Lee’s endurance and incredible uses of taijutsu surprises everyone who didn’t take him seriously.

9 Hinata vs Neji Is A Hyuga Clan Showdown

The Hinata vs Neji match is another must-watch during the Chunin Exams arc of the original Naruto series. This was a battle of Byakugans between the main and branch Hyuga family. It was filled with tension that had basically been building for their entire lives to prove which house is stronger.

Neji, a member of the Hyuga’s clan branch house, ends up being the victor. Like Rock Lee, Hinata, a member of the Hyuga clan’s main house, doesn’t back down to her cousin, even to the point of her losing consciousness.

8 Team 7 vs Zabuza & Haku Is A Tearjerker

Haku and Zabuza

The teamwork of the newly formed Team 7 of Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura is put to the test during the twelfth episode of the original Naruto series. In a mission that got way too out of hand for Genins, the team faces Zabuza Momochi, an S-class rogue ninja who is known by the nickname the “Demon of the Hidden Mist.”

Zabuza was also a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. He is joined in battle by his protégé Haku, an orphan from the Land of the Water. Both Zabuza and Haku are killed in battle, sacrificing their lives for each other.

7 Naruto Takes Down Pain

The Moment The Akatsuki Failed To Capture The Nine-Tails

The epic battle of Naruto vs Pain kept viewers in suspense the entire time. Pain and Naruto, both students of Jiraiya, face-off in a highly awaited confrontation since the death of Naruto’s master. Pain was attempting to kidnap Naruto to extract the Nine-Tails from him.

Naruto proved victorious by using all of his might and particularly the sage mode he perfected from Fukasaku at Mount Myobuku. This battle can be regarded as a turning point in the series because fans see just how much Naruto has grown since the beginning.

6 Sakura & Chiyo vs Sasori Is A Stand-Off

Sasori, puppeting the late Third Kazekage, prepares to fight

Even Sakura haters may agree that the battle between Sakura and Lady Chiyo versus Sasori of the Red Sand, a skilled puppetmaster and member of the Akatsuki, was one of her best battles in the series. Chiyo, a skilled puppetmaster like Sasori, was able to maneuver Sakura with puppet strings to counter Sasori’s attacks.

Another trick up their sleeves is from Sakura’s training in medical ninjutsu with Lady Tsunade. Sakura was able to develop an antidote for Sasori’s poison and this helped them win the match.

5 Jiraiya vs Pain Has A Heartbreaking End

Pain Vs Jiraiya

It’s a master-versus-student showdown in the Jiraiya vs Pain match. The legendary Sannin is taken down by Pain, who was previously taken under Jiraiya’s wing along with Konan and Yahiko. He manages to defeat a couple of Pain’s paths before his death.

Fans of Naruto see just how legendary Jiraiya is in battle and how he isn’t just a pervy sage. This episode is regarded as one of the saddest episodes in the Naruto franchise. It is Episode 133 of Shippuden, titled “The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant.”

4 Naruto, Rock Lee, & Gaara Take On Kimimaro

Lee vs Kimimaro

Sometimes, it takes three to take down the likes of Kimimaro. Viewers see a new side of Rock Lee through his drunken fist technique, but fails to defeat Kimimaro alone. Kimimaro has an ability like fans have never seen before. He has a Kekkei-Genkai that allows him to take bones out of his body to fight back with.

Gaara later joins in on the battle to crush Kimimaro with a Quicksand Waterfall Flow, however, he survives by activating his cursed seal. Kimimaro later dies from illness.

3 Might Guy Impresses Madara

Might Guy, Rock Lee’s boisterous sensei, faces off against Madara Uchiha in the Fourth Shinobi World War. Fans were worried for Guy’s life when he unleashed the power of the Eight Inner Gates in battle. As a result of the Eight Inner Gates, Guy has to use a wheelchair for most likely the rest of his life.

He was unable to fully defeat Madara, but he put up a good fight. Madara was even impressed by Guy’s battle techniques, so much so that he compared Guy to the First Hokage.

2 Kakashi vs Obito: A Battle Between Friends

Kakashi Obito Kaumi Dimension Fight

Kakashi is reunited with Obito Uchiha, his fellow teammate and childhood friend, during the Fourth Shinobi World War. This is an aesthetically pleasing battle as Obito transports himself and Kakashi using his Kamui technique to a whole different dimension. Flashbacks of Obito’s and Kakashi’s friendship are shown throughout this battle.

Kakashi proves victorious in this fight after he launches a Chidori into Obito’s chest. This is surprisingly and unfortunately similar to how their former teammate, Rin, died when she jumped in front of one of Kakashi’s attacks.

1 Naruto vs Sasuke: Rivals Collide

This match just might take the cake for the most hyped showdown in Naruto: Shippuden. These two rivals have been butting heads since birth and are facing each other yet again in what was one of Naruto‘s most highly rated episodes

The pair collides after they defeat Kaguya in the Fourth Shinobi World War. The fight ultimately ends in a draw with both of them losing an arm in the process. The fight was fruitful for Naruto, because Sasuke returned to the Leaf Village.
