On August 2019, it was announced that Lana Wachowski would be returning to direct the sequel (Lilly Wachowski will apparently not be returning). Lana will co-write The Matrix 4 with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell, and she will be co-producing with Grant Hill. And, as of the time of this post, we have gotten one official trailer for the movie.

The film stars Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity), Keanu Reeves (Neo), and Jada Pinkett Smith (Niobe) will be returning, along with new additions Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jessica Henwick.

Entertainment editor Therese Lacson and features editor Avery Kaplan are several episodes into a deep dive recap and analysis of The Matrix Universe on their podcast Matrix 404. Going beyond the three feature films, the hosts explore the world of the Animatrix as well as the Matrix comics and video games that expand on the universe.

Curious about how the end of the war fared for the people of Zion? Want to know what cut dialogue changed our opinion about a major character? Curious about theories connecting to Resurrections? You can find all that and more at Matrix 404. Join the conversation with us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Play, and anywhere else you listen to podcasts.

Now is the time to catch up and take the red pill so you can wake up in the real world!
