Morgan, who played the Texas Ranger Micki Ramirez, is quitting for personal reasons, as reported by Deadline. Morgan issued a statement on her departure, saying, “After much thoughtful consideration and introspection, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to step away from my role as Micki Ramirez on Walker for personal reasons, and I am eternally grateful to have the support of the producers, CBS Studios and The CW in allowing me to do so.”

She went on to praise the role, the show and her co-stars: “The opportunity to play Micki has truly been a blessing as has working alongside the incredible cast and crew of this terrific series. Please know that I will continue to root for my TV family and wish them all the best.”

Padalecki, who stars as the titular Cordell Walker and also serves as an executive producer, offered his support to Morgan’s decision. “Lindsey is a wonderful person, inside and out,” the actor said. “I am proud of, and grateful for, her work on Walker. Moreover, I’m honored to consider her a friend.”

Showrunner Anna Fricke also stood behind Morgan’s decision, along with The CW and CBS Studios. “It’s been a true pleasure to work with Lindsey,” she stated. “I admire her as a person and as a professional. She will of course be missed, but we truly support her and celebrate the impact she has made on this show.”

Walker, which premiered in early 2021, is The CW’s reboot of CBS’s Walker, Texas Ranger. Padalecki, best known for starring in the long-running urban fantasy Supernatural, plays a widower and father recently returned from two years undercover, while Morgan’s character Micki was his new partner. Previously, Morgan spent seven seasons on The 100, another of The CW’s hit series.

The first season of Walker is available to stream on The CW app. Season 2 premiered Oct. 28 on The CW.
