Almost all anime villains have their reason for joining the dark side. From seeking revenge to wanting absolute power or even being evil just to be evil. However, as fans start to get older, some villains’ intentions start to make sense. Although the way these villains handle things might not be the best, their intentions aren’t all that evil.
Some of these villains just want peace, end corrupt governments, or even save the planet. All these intentions aren’t evil at all but the way these villains went about achieving their goals isn’t justifiable at all.

Then Kyubey feeds off of the energy of these Magical Girls and the Witches in order to stop the universe from ending. To sum it up, all Kyubey wants to do is to save the universe from getting destroyed.

In order to free Japan from Brittanian Control, he does some unimaginable things. Lelouch killed his half-sister, betrayed his friends, and lied to his followers all for the sake of Japan. All Lelouch wants is to free Japan.

After finding the Death Note, a book that kills whoever’s name is written on it, Light Yagami decides to use it to rid the world of dangerous criminals. Although he had all the right intentions, Light became corrupted with too much power.
With the power of life and death in his hands, Light was consumed by selfishness and started to use the book for his own personal gain. In the end, the worldwide crime rate was down 70% thanks to Lights’ work.

Pain wants peace, and he believes it can be achieved only through true empathy. Meaning that the other villages must go through the same pain that his village went through for them to experience empathy. Only then can the World achieve peace, according to Pains’ ideologies.
Pains’ end goal isn’t purely evil, but this doesn’t justify any of the war crimes and murders he and his group have committed against the Hidden Leaf Village.

Hanami is a special-grade cursed spirit who possesses the ability to control the environment around him. All Hanami wants is what’s best for the earth and for him, that’s getting rid of all mankind.
To him, humans are slowly destroying the Earth’s environment. However, that doesn’t mean all humankind deserves to perish for the actions of some.
5 Scar From Fullmetal Alchemist Craves Revenge
Scar is the sole survivor of a genocide perpetrated by the Amestrian Army. Scars’ revenge started when he killed the two doctors that were taking care of him after the massacre. From then on Scar, went on to murder Amestrian soldiers that he believed deserved it because they were a part of the conflict.
Soon after, Scar does start to feel guilty for his actions. Although his intentions aren’t evil for wanting justice for his people, killing innocent doctors isn’t justifiable.

In the Psycho-Pass world, people are murdered because the government has a computer system that tells them these individuals might break the law one day. Shougo will do anything in order to get rid of this corrupt system, which includes killing anyone that gets in his way, including the innocent.
That’s not all, he also wiped out the nation’s grain supply, which caused people to starve, he did this to further his goals. Shougos’ intentions are in the right place, however, it’s hard to forgive his diabolical actions.

All through his life, Garou was forced to play the villain and was bullied by people that claimed to be heroes. Thus Garou came to understand villains and realized that heroes were no different than villains.

Although he had all the right intentions, he went about it the wrong way ignoring those who killed heroes. In the end, all Garou wanted to do was make the world a better place.

Stain makes some good points about the flawed capitalistic hero system in the My Hero Academia world, however, that doesn’t mean he can just go about killing the heroes he thinks are just doing it for the money.

After his family tragically died, he tried to bring his brother Natsu back to life. In order to do this, Zeref used all kinds of magic, which ended up cursing him with immortality and caused all those who got close to him to suffer.
Overall, Zerefs’ intentions since the beginning were to just bring his dear brother back to life.
