Zack Snyder’s Justice League tops the NPD VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, for the week ending Sept. 11.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League easily topped the NPD VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, in the week that ended Sept. 11.
Blu-ray Disc formats accounted for 75 percent of Zack Snyder’s Justice League‘s first-week unit sales, according to Media Play News. Of that, 38 percent of the film’s total tally came from 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, meaning 37 percent of units sold were regular Blu-ray and 25 percent of units sold were standard DVDs.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League finished ahead of Warner’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, which dropped to number two on the overall chart. The horror flick also dropped one spot on the Blu-ray Disc chart to number. Meanwhile, Lionsgate’s Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard was the number three overall disc seller and the number two Blu-ray.
The sales numbers came out just days ahead of Snyder promoting the Blu-ray/DVD version of the film being available while celebrating Batman Day on Sept. 18. “Happy Batman Day!” Snyder tweeted. “It’s the perfect day to run out and grab your copy of the ZSJL. #BatmanDay #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague.”
Fans celebrated the release DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on Sept. 7 by using the hashtag “#SnyderCutHomecoming.” Tweets about the release mainly focused on the film selling like hotcakes.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is currently available on HBO Max, as well as on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD.
