Someone Collected Every Simu Liu Stock Photo in One Place, and It Is Glorious

[ad_1]

A fan managed to collect every stock photo of the Shang-Chi actor and created a single thread on Twitter, full of hilarious fan edits.

Long before he became one of the biggest stars on the planet in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Simu Liu did some work as a stock photo model.

Since his casting as Shang-Chi in Marvel Studios’ latest film, fans have occasionally brought up his past as a stock model. Liu has even joined in on the fun, recently joking that he was owed more for the photos than what he was initially paid. In fact, the actor has even used the photos to poke fun at those who were quick to call Shang-Chi a bomb prior to its release. Now, thanks to @svmberg on Twitter, we have every stock photo to feature Liu in a single glorious thread.

In the thread viewable below, the actor can be seen in various situations. Liu is seen participating in a workout class in some photos and gathering among others in office settings. The user was even able to find a few photos of Liu’s image used in print advertisements. The actor jokingly responded to the thread stating, “Thanks I hate this.”

Naturally, fans decided to have fun with the images. One of the photos of Liu leading a conference room full of people was edited to feature Liu’s character among the Avengers in a scene from Captain America: Civil War, while another photo saw one of the images of Liu in a dance class edited to feature the Ten Rings. Other edited images included Liu being added to scenes from Loki, the shawarma scene from The Avengers and a scene from Avengers: Endgame. One of the best, however, saw Tom Holland’s Spider-Man looking at an image of Liu’s image on a building, a reference to Spider-Man: Far From Home where Peter looks up at wall art of Iron Man.

Liu has been very open regarding the stock images in the past. As he previously explained, he was only paid $120 for them and signed away all rights so he no longer earns any money from their use. It was at a time before his career started to take off and he was simply trying to get by financially. Thankfully, however, Liu appears to be able to laugh about it these days.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which stars Liu, Awkwafina, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen and Tony Leung, is exclusively playing in theatres now.
