10 Characters Who Would Be A Perfect Match For Wolverine

[ad_1]

Now that the X-Men are back home with Marvel, many fans are looking forward to their MCU debut. While many fans hope to see some of the mutants that were snubbed by Fox, they are also excited to see the newest iterations of classic Fox characters such as Magneto, Xavier, and Wolverine.

Wolverine has had many interesting relationships throughout his very long life, suggesting there are many different characters in the MCU that could be a great match for the claw popping berserker. Logan has an affinity for redheads and powerful women (and men), and the MCU has plenty of each. Despite his gruff outer appearance, Logan can be a real sweet guy to his lady friends.

10 The Head Of Stark Industries, Pepper Potts

With the unfortunate passing of Tony, Pepper is recently single but it may be some time before she is ready to mingle. It’s assumed that Wolverine won’t be coming to the MCU for a while, potentially giving Pepper plenty of time to heal and move on.

Wolverine loves redheads and while Pepper isn’t a physically powerful woman, she is technically the head of a multi-billion dollar company. Though when she is in her armor, she can hold her own in a big-time battle.

9 Okoye, The Leader Of The Dora Milaje

Logan may traditionally go after redheads, but he is no stranger to other hairstyles, even shaved heads. Okoye is a powerful warrior that is the leader of the all-female king’s guard of Wakanda known as the Dora Milaje. She is an incredibly skilled fighter that would be able to put Logan in his place if she needed to.

Logan may not be too familiar with African cultures, but he does have a lot of experience in Asia suggesting he would be understanding and supportive of cultures and customs that may appear strange to him. It may sound like an odd coupling on paper, but it could certainly work out.

8 Natasha Romanoff (Or Maybe Yelena Belova) AKA The Notorious Black Widow

Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh in Black Widow

Natasha was another powerful redhead in the MCU, though instead of power in the private sector, Nat was an incredible spy who excelled at infiltration and hand-to-hand combat. Unfortunately, she is currently dead within the MCU so any potential pairing would have to take place during a period piece.

However, with the legal battle between Disney and Johannson, it’s highly unlikely she will return to reprieve the role. That said, even though she isn’t a redhead, there is currently a character poised to take the mantle of Black Widow. With Yelena already being so funny on her own, the banter between her and Logan would be side-splitting.

7 The Wasp, If She Ever Leaves Scott (Lang, Not Summers)

The Wasp may be a bit of a stretch since she is currently in a somewhat serious relationship with Scott Lang, but things change in the MCU all the time and the stresses of Quantumania may be too much for their relationship to stand. It’s also a cute nod to the comics, suggesting Logan has a thing for women currently in a relationship with men named Scott.

Hope is a powerful fighter that is always ready for the fight. She is skilled in various fighting styles and she is an expert with her father’s technology. It would also certainly be fun to have her excitedly run down scientific jargon while Logan smiles, nods, and struggles to keep up.

6 Loki, Who Was Recently Revealed To Be Bisexual

Loki flips his knives

It never makes sense to pair members of the same sex for pure fan service, though there is legitimate potential for this match-up. Not only has the MCU Loki recently revealed that he is bisexual, but Logan has also dabbled in men over the years in a handful of comics.

However, these two crossing paths and finding common ground may be easier said than done. Though there is always the potential for Loki to come across a version of Logan through the TVA. If Sylvie can maintain a relationship with a mysterious postman amidst jumping between apocalypses, Loki and Logan should be able to make it work.

5 The Ancient War Hero Known As Valkyrie

With respect to Asgardians, Valkyrie may be more Logan’s speed. Not only is she a more talented warrior than Loki, but she also enjoys the sauce more, perhaps a bit too much. Luckily, her physiology allows her to drink more than the average human (like Logan); fans have seen her polish off liters of liquor in a matter of seconds.

Additionally, while Logan has a minuscule lifespan when compared to the Asgardians (who live for at least a few millennia) he has tons of war stories having fought in every major American war since possibly the Civil War. With Thor off with the Asgardians of the Galaxy, Valkyrie could use a new drinking buddy to share war stories with.

4 Sharon Carter Would Make Sense With Her Ties To Madripoor

Wolverine has more ties to Madripoor than perhaps any other mutant, so much so that fans were actually partially expecting a Wolverine cameo during TFATWS. The Princess Bar, where Zemo took Sam and Bucky to inquire about the Power Broker, is actually a classic locale for Logan’s alter ego, Patch, in the comics.

Assuming Carter will continue to operate in Madripoor as the Power Broker’s right-hand woman, she could easily find herself crossing paths with an eyepatch-wearing white-suited Logan. Whether or not she truly is the Power Broker or simply a subordinate, she still commands quite a bit of power in Madripoor, and now seemingly back in the States as well.

3 Deadpool, Especially If It’s Reynolds & Jackman

Deadpool has an interesting relationship history in the comics, much like Logan. The two of them have a very unique friendship in the comics as well, setting the stage for something more in the MCU. The only real reason to make this happen would be if Hugh Jackman surprises everyone and comes back to pop the claws once again.

Given Jackman’s and Reynold’s long-standing friendship/feud, their MCU relationship could be just as incredible. Fans already got a small taste of what that would be like in Wolverine’s origin film under the Fox umbrella; bringing that same dynamic to the MCU would be hilarious.

2 Logan & Captain Marvel May Have Had A Fling In The Comics

Brie Larson As Captain Marvel

While it’s not outright confirmed, it is heavily suggested that Danvers and Logan had a bit of a casual relationship in the comics. Their stories overlapped in the comics when their respective American and Canadian military units teamed up on several occasions. They spent a lot of time together on missions, and presumably more time together after hours.

However, in the MCU, it’s assumed that Carol spent most of her time between 1995 and 2023 in outer space rather than tethered to the U.S. Military. Hopefully, The Marvels will shed some light on Carol’s adventures from almost three decades and (assuming there is time) could even lay some groundwork for Logan (or other mutants, like Rogue) to appear down the road.

1 Wanda Is The Most Powerful Redhead In The MCU

Logan’s most famously known relationship is probably with the mighty Jean Grey who is a fiery redhead with mind-bending telekinetic and telepathic abilities that exceed even those of Charles Xavier’s. While Wanda’s powers are based on Chaos Magic, she is still able to manipulate peoples’ minds in a variety of ways.

She is also similar to Jean Grey in physical appearance, making her a perfect fit for Logan, on paper. While it’s heavily assumed that Vision will return to the MCU at some point in the future, Logan could certainly fill the void if only temporarily. Assuming Wanda is both witch and mutant, their shared background in mutant physiology could be something for them to bond over, potentially resulting in a romantic relationship.
