[ad_1]

Peach Momoko’s comic book series, which blends Marvel superheroes with Japanese folklore, adds Thor and Storm to its cast of characters.

Two upcoming releases in the Demon Days collection bear exciting gifts as Thor and Storm make their way into the comics this fall.

Marvel announced that its Stormbreaker artist Peach Momoko, creator of the innovative series that blends familiar superheroes with Japanese folklore, will continue the saga of Mariko Yashida with Demon Days: Rising Storm #1. Both the God of Thunder and Ororo Munroe, the weather-wielding disciple of Professor Charles Xavier, have been selected by the artist to appear in the pages of the penultimate issue in the quarterly series.

Beginning with Demon Days: X-Men #1, Momoko’s string of titles has featured favorites like Black Widow, Psylocke and Venom. The next installment will bring Thor and Storm into the fold as Mariko traverses the forest of Kirisaki Mountain and “crosses paths with literal gods!”

Coming one week after the Dec. 1 release of Rising Storm #1 will be a special edition of Momoko’s X-Men #1, called Demon Days: X-Men Creator’s Cut. Presented in “bold black and white,” the limited release will include layouts, pencils, character designs and a new cover by Momoko.

With the distinction of being one of Marvel’s Stormbreakers, Momoko has been recognized as a rising talent in the industry. Regarding her ascension to the distinguished “next generation” of comic book illustrators, she stated, “A dream come true. Not only did Marvel offer me to do interiors, but to do everything myself and tell a Marvel story like no other. A ‘Momoko-verse’ was born.”

Continuing, she said, “Because I love Yokai stories, horror, Japanese folktales, classic samurai tales… I wanted to tackle as much as possible using these concepts with Marvel characters and make something Marvel fans can still appreciate but also bring it in a fresh direction.”

Demon Days: Rising Storm #1 goes on sale Dec. 1, while Demon Days: X-Men Creator’s Cut #1 goes on sale Dec. 8, 2021, both from Marvel Comics.
