F9 made it’s debut in a loud way and Hollywood is happy about it. Deadline is reporting that the Vin Diesel lead film has pulled in over $98.08M in domestic box office, and that is with big theaters like the Arclight closed and 40% of Ontario theaters still dark until late July. The U.S. is at just under 80% of their theaters reopened with 44 states having no capacity restrictions at all. This is the highest opening since the pandemic began and is pretty close to pre-pandemic numbers.

While those are great numbers for the domestic box office, the international sales are also impressive with the film opening in 22 new overseas markets and bringing that total up to $335M, bring it’s global number to $405M which moves it past the worldwide totals for Tenet and has it quickly approaching the numbers for Godzilla Vs Kong overseas total of $344M. All of this comes with the film having yet to premiere in such key markets as Spain, France, Germany, Japan and Italy.
