Have you ever been curious how laptop makers pack so many high-end internals together into such a tight space to build a powerful gaming laptop like the Intel®-powered Lenovo Legion 7i? We’ve teamed up with Lenovo Legion, Intel, and Tested on a new video series to show you exactly how it’s done. In celebration of Intel Gamer Days, Mythbusters’ Adam Savage will take apart the new Lenovo Legion 7i and turn it into an elegantly knolled shadow box display to show off every part of what makes the machine tick. And, you could win the shadow box for yourself through the sweepstakes below.
You can tune in to watch the four-part teardown and get an even closer look at all that goes into the laptop’s construction as well as the process of putting together the shadow box here:
Wrapped up inside the Legion 7i’s aerospace-grade aluminum frame is a pairing of an 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i9 CPU and a NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 30-Series GPU. This gives the system superior gaming performance that’s intelligently managed by Lenovo’s Legion AI Engine to eke out the most the system has to offer.
The Lenovo Legion 7i is a first-of-its-kind gaming laptop with a 16-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS display. It features a 16:10 aspect ratio with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ Support. Lenovo has it running with 100% sRGB gamut and a 500-nit peak brightness to support Dolby Vision HDR, all while keeping razor-thin bezels so the laptop’s dimensions can stay tight.
The Legion 7i has a new cooling system under the hood as well. With such powerful internals to keep cool, it’s packing the Legion Coldfront 3.0 paired with 10,500 machine-drilled intake vents to keep the system running cool. You won’t have to worry about slow-downs in the heat of the moment.
The laptop offers a tactile experience with Lenovo’s Legion TrueStrike keyboard. It features innovative soft-landing switches that deliver deeper strokes with equal force on every strike, so you’ll feel precise control without tiring out your fingertips. It comes backed by Corsair iCUE-powered RGB lighting to let you customize it with over 16 million color options
Nahimic audio on the Legion 7i can boost your immersion with 3D audio and improved communications with teammates. It even supports a Legion-exclusive Nahimic audio solution that turns any bluetooth speaker into a surround sound system.
All of that hardware will be disassembled and knolled into Adam Savage’s stunning shadow box display as a part of Intel® Gamer Days, a celebration of all things PC gaming from August 27th to September 5th.
A sweepstakes will be running from September 1 to 5, and you’ll have a chance to win the Lenovo Legion 7i shadow box as well as a fully functioning Legion 7i laptop by entering. One runner up will win a Lenovo Legion 5i Pro laptop..
