The CW’s Arrow has been creating heartwarming moments ever since it premiered in 2012. Whether it is a moment of romance, friendship, or something else entirely, Arrow certainly had its fair share of emotional events. The combination of vigilante action and touching moments has caused the show to become one of the best superhero TV series of all time.

10 Diggle Eulogizes Oliver At His Funeral

After his emotional death during the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event, Oliver Queen’s friends and family gathered during the Arrow series finale to attend his funeral. Oliver and John Diggle, aka Spartan, spent 8 years fighting crime in Star City, and the two heroes became best friends along the way.

Diggle paid respect to the Green Arrow’s life with a touching speech, putting into words how special Oliver truly was. The heartwarming moment displayed just how much Oliver’s life influenced those he left behind.

9 Oliver Gets To Meet His Children From The Future

Oliver and Felicity’s future children from 2040 were first introduced in Arrow’s Season 7. During the 8th and final season, the Monitor brought Mia, William, and Diggle’s adopted son Connor, to present-day Star City.

The family reunion in the bunker was an incredibly special moment as both Oliver and Diggle had not yet seen their children grow up. After “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” the legacy of Oliver Queen continued when Mia took on the mantle of the Green Arrow in Star City in 2040.

Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen was first introduced during Season 2 of Arrow before getting his own show in 2014. The first crossover between the two shows saw Oliver and Barry teaming up to take on Captain Boomerang. After defeating the villain, Barry and Oliver have a chat regarding their alter egos.

Barry lets Oliver know that he can inspire people as himself, as opposed to his persona as the Green Arrow. The encouragement Barry offers is an endearing reminder that Oliver is a hero, even when he isn’t wearing green.

7 Moira Knows That Oliver Is The Arrow

In the 20th episode of Season 2 entitled “Seeing Red,” Moira reveals to Oliver that she has known for quite some time that he is the Arrow. The realization that his mother is proud of her son’s actions leaves the audience with a feeling of joy and satisfaction.

However, this dynamic between the two is not explored much, as Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, kills Moira at the end of the episode. Thankfully, due to the events of “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” Moira is brought back from the dead, as revealed in the series finale.

6 Oliver Tells Thea His Secret

During the 13th episode of Season 3, Oliver finally revealed his secret superhero identity to his sister, Thea. Shortly after, she would even go on to join Oliver as a vigilante known as Speedy.

While Oliver was originally scared that his sister would disapprove of his actions, Thea’s overwhelming support for what Oliver had done for the city displayed a level of forgiveness and respect towards her brother. Thea originally left the show during the 6th season, but then she came back for a few guest appearances.

5 John Diggle & Lyla Michaels Get Married

During a Season 3 episode, Lyla Michaels and John Diggle get remarried. Ray Palmer officiates the ceremony and many of Diggle and Lyla’s friends attend the wedding, including Oliver, Felicity, Laurel, and others. The endearing moment culminates the romantic journey that the two have gone on throughout the run of the show.

The couple’s honeymoon was cut short with a Task Force X mission from Amanda Waller. Diggle and Lyla continued to be an excellent example of a loving couple throughout the rest of the show.

4 Oliver Calls His Mom From The Boat

During a Season 5 flashback in which fishermen on a boat rescue Oliver from Lian Yu, he gives his mother a phone call. The flashback takes place moments before the events of the pilot episode of the series. Believing that her son was dead for the past 5 years, Moira was quickly overcome with emotion, surprise, and confusion.

While Oliver and Moira had a complex and sometimes unpleasant relationship, the mother and son were still family and they proved that they could work past their differences.

3 Oliver & Felicity Have Their Baby

The Season 7 finale was quite eventful for the characters in the show. After the death of his villainous half-sister, Emiko, Oliver and Felicity left Star City to start a life of themselves. Several months pass as Oliver and Felicity live in an A.R.G.U.S. safe house.

The moment arrives when Felicity gives birth to their child, Mia, allowing Oliver and Felicity to have a brief moment of happiness. Unfortunately, the Monitor shows up shortly after Mia’s birth and informs Oliver of his inevitable death in the upcoming “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” Oliver leaves Felicity and Mia to help the Monitor prepare for the event.

2 Roy Proposes To Thea In The Series Finale

Roy Harper and Thea Queen first met after he stole her purse back in a Season 1 episode, and the two had a romantic relationship for much of the show’s run. Roy departed from the show during Season 3 but would end up returning in future seasons.

After years of dating each other and other people, Roy finally asked Thea to marry him in the series finale. Thea says yes and the two end their stories on a high note, leaving fans satisfied that they found happiness with each other.

1 Oliver & Felicity Get Their Happily Ever After

While the Arrow series finale featured many emotional moments, including a funeral and a proposal, perhaps the most heartwarming instance came in the closing minutes of the episode. The scene sees Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak reuniting in the afterlife in a building that resembles Queen Consolidated.

After 8 seasons of wondering where their relationship would end up, the viewers got an answer. With the two characters finally together, fans are left with a sense of finality as the couple ultimately got something of a happy conclusion.
