5 Anime Characters Tsunade Can Defeat (& 5 She’d Lose To)

[ad_1]

Lady Tsunade was a member of the legendary Sannin and the Fifth Hokage of the Naruto universe. As one of the most powerful kunoichi to have ever lived, she has proven her worth against powerful villains like Orochimaru and Madara.

However, it is difficult to appreciate how mighty Tsunade actually is given that she has only fought adversaries from her own world. By matching her against a diverse roster of anime characters, we can better gauge how well her tremendous strength and healing affinity would hold up in a variety of different circumstances.

10 Could Beat: Charon Fares Poorly Against Opponents With High Physical Strength (Fire Force)

Charon was a White-Clad cultist whose Ignition Ability allowed him to deflect the fire of others back to them. This forces his opponents into physical altercations, ones that he is usually prone to win when considering his impressive stature.

However, since strength is Tsunade’s forte, she would easily be able to overpower him with taijutsu alone. Considering that she was strong enough to coerce the Idiot Brothers into submission (who themselves could break out of a shadow possession with brute force), Charon wouldn’t be much of a challenge.

9 Would Lose To: It Would Be Impossible For Tsunade To Harm Crocodile Or Counter His Dehydration Ability (One Piece)

Crocodile the Warlord from One Piece

While Tsunade might be significantly stronger than Crocodile in terms of brawn, his logia-type devil fruit ensures that she’d never be able to land a punch on him. The only way that the Fifth Hokage could possibly harm her pirate adversary is if she deliberately bloodied her fists (a tactic she is averse to, considering her hemophobia).

While Crocodile’s traditional attacks might not be particularly deadly against Tsunade, he could still reduce her to a desiccated corpse by touching and dehydrating her.

8 Could Beat: Sloth’s Attacks Lack Precision & Have High Downtime (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Sloth was physically the most powerful member of the homunculus, capable of plowing through several dozen men and even overwhelming Alex Armstrong. He is also deceptively fast, capable of moving in a blur when bounding forward.

However, even if the villain manages to make a direct collision with Tsunade, his attacks have an extremely high recovery time. It would allow Tsunade to cast her hundred healings jutsu in order to replenish herself before taking the fight to the brute.

7 Would Lose To: Might Guy Could Overwhelm Tsunade By Harnessing The Full Potential Of His Gates (Naruto)

While Tsunade may be able to get the better of Might Guy in his base form (due to strength feats like overpowering the Raikage and cracking a Susanoo), the taijutsu master could turn the tide by opening seven or eight gates.

By harnessing his superior speed, Guy could keep out of Tsunade’s reach and safely deliver brutal punishment. Given that his “Daytime Tiger” technique was powerful enough to defeat Kisame in a single hit, it follows that he’d be able to overwhelm the Fifth Hokage with it before she had a chance to heal.

6 Could Beat: Muscular Is Far Less Experienced & Versatile Than Tsunade

Muscular was a member of the League’s vanguard who relied almost exclusively on brute force. He was powerful enough to create a small crater through the force of his quirk alone and could catch physical attacks with the dislocated strands clinging to his chest.

However, the villain has a clear limit as to what he can protect against, as proven when he was defeated by Deku. Considering that Tsunade was a veteran of the Second Shinobi War, she should be able to find and exploit his weaknesses, if not overwhelm him immediately.

5 Would Lose To: Gamagori’s Uniform Is Designed To Protect Against Tsunade’s Attacks (Kill La Kill)

Gamagori was the disciplinary chairman of Honnoji Academy and wielded an impossibly powerful life fiber uniform. It not only protected him from physical attacks, but any attempts made against him would also be reflected back against the offender.

Considering that Tsunade relies primarily on taijutsu to defeat her opponents, she would quickly find herself overwhelmed by the force of her own punches. Should she abstain from fighting altogether, Gamagori could assault her with the barbed appendages his uniform can produce.

4 Could Beat: Tsunade Has Cracked Things Much Harder Than Reiner’s Armor (Attack On Titan)

Reiner’s Armored Titan was renowned for its durability. It could survive a bombardment from an entire naval armada and fared reasonably well against Eren Yeager’s hardened fists. He even withstood numerous thunder spears applied directly to the nape.

However, Tsunade has cracked and shattered substances as hard as Madara’s Susanoo. Consequently, the plates attached to the Armored Titan’s back shouldn’t be much of a problem for her to fracture.

3 Would Lose To: Tsunade Has No Means Of Harming Baraggan (Bleach)

Baraggan would be virtually impossible for Tsunade to defeat. Since she is a melee fighter, coming into the Espada’s vicinity would render her vulnerable to his senescence. The decay would quickly crawl up her arm, devouring flesh and muscle alike until she was forced to amputate whatever it compromised.

Tactics such as throwing projectiles wouldn’t be effective either, as the black miasma Baraggan shrouds himself in would reduce them to dust as well. Considering the immediate and severe nature of his abilities, Tsunade’s healing would also be worthless against the king of Hueco Mundo.

2 Could Beat: Raphtalia Isn’t Fast Enough To Cause Tsunade Meaningful Harm (The Rising Of The Shield Hero)

Raphtalia Facing Her Past Shield Hero

Raphtalia was a powerful swordswoman, as proven through her ability to defeat massive creatures on Naofumi’s behalf. In spite of her impressive feats, however, she is relatively new to combat and has an extremely straightforward arsenal of attacks.

Should she manage to bury her sword into Tsunade’s arm, the Fifth Hokage could still crush Raphtalia’s every bone with a retaliatory punch. It wouldn’t take long for the kunoichi to heal from her injuries, whereas Raphtalia would be taken out of commission on account of her relatively low durability.

1 Would Lose To: Meruem Could Shrug Off Tsunade’s Attacks & Possesses Frighteningly High Offensive Potential (Hunter X Hunter)

Meruem grinning

While Tsunade might technically have an advantage over Meruem in terms of experience, the Chimera Ant King is a frighteningly fast learner. He could defeat world-renowned game masters in a matter of minutes, meaning that he’d adapt to the Hokage’s fighting style just as easily.

Moreover, Meruem has significantly higher raw attributes than Tsunade. He could move faster than Netero was able to perceive him and managed to massacre dozens of people in under a second. Tsunade’s healing wouldn’t be useful if he destroyed her head faster than she could anticipate him.
