10 Weakest Anime Characters Who Deserve To Be Strong

[ad_1]

The world of anime is famed for some of its most powerful heroes and villains, from Son Goku the Saiyan hero to the invincible Saitama and the unstoppable King Yhwach of Bleach fame. However, not every powerful anime character deserves to be strong, and not all weak characters should be that weak.

While some anime characters are irresponsible with their strength and might not even deserve that strength, there are weak anime characters who could be trusted with great power if they could somehow receive it. Such characters have the courage and responsibility to wield great power. Perhaps enhanced strength would bring out the best in them and give them the means to make their ideals a reality.

10 Asami Sato Should Have Been A Bender (The Legend Of Korra)

In some ways, Asami Sato is a better person for not being a bender, since her non-bender status may have driven her to excel in all other areas of life, from her studies and martial arts skills to her compassion towards others. After a point, though, Asami definitely deserved to gain some bending.

Asami is weak even compared to benders like Mako and Bolin, but that could have changed when Korra opened the spirit portals. Many people gained airbending overnight, including Bumi, and Asami deserved her own airbending, too. She would put it to good use.

9 Yasutora “Chad” Sado Never Wins When It Counts The Most (Bleach)

Ichigo’s good friend Chad is certainly stronger than normal human beings, with or without his spiritual gifts and his Fullbring abilities. Chad can even defeat low-level Soul Reaper officers and some Arrancars, but he never wins when he’s up against someone truly worthy, such as Nnoitora Gilga or Captain Shunsui Kyoraku.

Chad doesn’t have to eclipse Ichigo in strength to prove himself, but still, he deserved better than what he got in the story of Bleach. Chad has a heroic and noble heart, and he deserved a few more power-ups so he could truly stand by Ichigo’s side as an equal.

8 Sakura Haruno Never Caught Up To Naruto & Sasuke (Naruto)

Sakura Haruno From Shippuden

Sakura Haruno didn’t have it easy in the story of Naruto. Sasuke totally rejected her, and she tried in vain to catch up to Naruto and Sasuke during their time together in Team 7. Sakura does have the brave heart of a kunoichi, but rarely does she get a chance to prove it.

Sakura started to catch up early in Shippuden, and she had some new skills to her name. Alas, Naruto and Sasuke both soon left her in the dust once again, and Sakura continued to be the butt of countless jokes in the Naruto fandom. Anime heroes need their faults, but not this many.

7 Lisanna Strauss Can’t Pull Her Weight (Fairy Tail)

In many regards, Lisanna Strauss is the Sakura Haruno of Fairy Tail. She is a loyal and brave teammate and member of the Fairy Tail Guild, but she rarely gets a chance to prove it in a battle. Lisanna fell far behind her brother and sister, and she tends to lose most of her fights.

Lisanna soundly lost a duel against Erza, even when she had Juvia backing her up, and Lisanna couldn’t contribute much to the Grand Magic Games arc or the Tartaros story arc, either. She has little more to do than stand around and comment on what’s happening.

6 Mumen Rider Has A Heroic Heart (One-Punch Man)

Many characters in One-Punch Man are strange, unlucky, or weak for the sake of humor or for the purpose of satirizing and deconstructing the superhero genre. But, even so, fans may agree that certain characters are definitely overdue for a power-up so they can realize their true potential.

Mumen Rider is one such character, a C-ranked hero who has the courage, conviction, and noble spirit of a true superhero. Too bad his incredible spirit came packaged in a weak and ineffective body like his. If more heroes had Mumen Rider’s attitude, crime and villainy would soon be a thing of the past.

5 Judeau Should Have Survived The Eclipse (Berserk)

judeau berserk

Judeau was a member of the Band of the Hawk, and he thought highly of his commander, Griffith. He also warmly welcomed the mercenary Guts to the team, and he also had earned the respect of Casca. Simply put, Judeau was a popular and likable character who deserved to survive the Eclipse and get stronger instead of Rickert.

Judeau is an expert knife-thrower, but otherwise, he can’t compare to the likes of Guts or Serpico, which is a shame. If Judeau survived the Eclipse, he could have trained harder to prepare himself for the difficult journey ahead with Guts. He’s such a noble hero, after all.

4 Kazuichi Banjo Is A Friendly But Unremarkable Ghoul (Tokyo Ghoul)

Kazuichi Banjo is a supporting character in the original story of Tokyo Ghoul, and he helps prove that while all ghouls are supernatural flesh-eaters, not all of them are monsters at heart. Banjo is a big and tough fellow, but he has a gentle and kind personality, and he gets along well with Ken Kaneki the antihero.

Banjo trained with Ken to get stronger, but he didn’t make much progress, and his kagune was less than impressive. A loyal and heroic ghoul like him could stand to have a stronger kagune to help fight back against Aogiri Tree and the more wicked members of the CCG.

3 Mai Zenin Needs Strength To Achieve Her Sister’s Dream (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Maki Zenin rebelled against her traditionalist family and sought to become a great sorcerer despite the rules, and she even aimed to rule the Zenin clan someday. Her gunslinger sister Mai had no choice but to follow suit, though Mai would have been just fine being a low-ranked member of the family who didn’t cause trouble.

Mai may resent Maki for getting her into this mess, but there’s no way out, so she might as well see the mission through. Like her sister, Mai needs great strength to prove herself to the traditionalist Zenins, and she was born with no cursed energy. She’s not a bad person. She’s simply resentful of her circumstances and needs strength to change them.

2 Iruka Umino Should Be Stronger By Now (Naruto)

There are a handful of Naruto characters who deserve to be stronger than they actually are, and Sakura is just the start. Another Naruto character who needs a power boost is Naruto’s very own academy instructor, the tough but fair Iruka Umino. He’s been a “meh” chunin ever since his introduction.

Iruka is a smart and kind ninja who was almost like an uncle to Naruto, and he risked his life to protect Naruto even when the boy broke the rules by stealing that shadow clone scroll. Iruka would gladly lay down his life to defend the Hidden Leaf Village from the likes of Madara Uchiha or Pain, and he needs more strength to pull it off.

1 Takemichi Hanagaki Needs The Physical Strength To Match His Emotional Strength (Tokyo Revengers)

Takemichi Hanagaki is the time-traveling protagonist of Tokyo Revengers, and while he has the benefit of knowing who is who and what will happen in the near future, the odds are still stacked against him. Takemichi’s meta-knowledge isn’t much of an asset when he’s getting thrashed by everyone around him.

Takemichi wears the uniform of Toman, but he’s hardly on Mikey’s or Draken’s level. He has endured many beatings and is often mocked, but that wouldn’t be the case if this brave boy had some strength and martial arts skills to back up his bold words.
