In this new exclusive video, CBR ranks ten variants of Loki’s Kang by power.
In the finale for Disney+’s Loki, the titular God of Mischief and Sylvie discovered the true power behind the Time-Variance Authority: He Who Remains. Played by Jonathan Majors, He Who Remains is one of the variants of a classic Marvel villain named Kang the Conqueror. And by the end of the series’ first season, Sylvie’s actions ensured that we’re about to see a lot more of Kang. In this video, we’re going to go through ten of Kang’s variants and rank them according to power.
Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Kang first appeared as Rama-Tut in 1963’s Fantastic Four #19 before using the name he’s best known by in 1964’s Avengers #8. Originally from the 31st century, Kang, also known as Nathaniel Richards, uses time travel to get a leg up on his opponents. This has helped make him one of the most dangerous villains in the Marvel universe.
Check out the video below to see where variants of Kang, including Iron Lad, Immortus and Rama-Tut, rank in terms of power.
Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it’s not totally clear just what shape the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take. While there’s a good indication the characters that Disney acquired from 21st Century Fox will soon arrive, there’s not much solid information on just when or how that might happen. Right now, there are a lot of potential directions the MCU could go in the future, though exactly where it will go remains to be seen. That being said, Kang is set to return in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, making clear that he’s going to be one of the MCU’s biggest threats going forward.
