10 Things Gon Needs To Do After Finding His Father

[ad_1]

The protagonist Gon from Hunter x Hunter, after many story arcs, hard battles, and navigating tricky situations, finally reunited with his father Ging after the Chairman Election arc. This occurred at the end of the anime, creating a satisfying conclusion to the series, but the manga is still ongoing.

There are many things that fans think Gon could still do, despite achieving his initial goal of finding his father. His many adventures brought him friends, enemies, and many other unique encounters. Despite the breadth of knowledge, experience, and adventures he now has, however, there are still some unresolved threads left for Gon. From having a rematch with Hisoka to catching up with some of his past allies and friends, these potential opportunities would give Gon a chance to grow and explore even further.

10 Gon And Hisoka Need A Rematch

The last time Gon and Hisoka fought each other was during the Heavens Arena arc when the two faced off as Gon was still learning how to use Nen. Given that Gon has become much more powerful since then, it’s likely that Hisoka would still want to fight him, and many fans would be interested in a rematch after Gon managed to successfully punch Hisoka in the face during their last match.

9 Gon Needs To Go Home And Visit Mito

Even though Gon left Whale Island a long while ago and has visited once or twice since then, it would be good for Gon to go home and let Mito know that he finally met his father. It would be additionally heartwarming if Ging himself decided to show up or go home with Gon, considering that it has been a very long time since Mito last saw him. Not only would it be nice for Mito to know that Gon achieved finding his father, but it could lead to a sweet family reunion.

8 Gon And Kurapika Should Meet Again Sometime Soon

Hunter X Hunter Kurapika

Kurapika and Gon spent a lot of time in the series separate from each other after the events of the Hunter Exam. Considering how much both of them have grown since then, now would be a great time for Gon and Kurapika to reunite, catch up with each other, and perhaps spar a bit to see where they are in fighting skills.

It would also be fun if Leorio and Killua joined in on the reunion, since it would bring back the original foursome friendship viewers followed during the Hunter Exam.

7  Gon Should Explore The Dark Continent With Ging

Though the anime concluded after the Election arc, the manga continued with starting the Dark Continent arc, with a posthumous message from the late Chairman Netero encouraging the Zodiacs to explore the Dark Continent (and hopefully survive). Additionally, Netero’s son Beyond Netero also joined forces with this team, along with Ging himself. If Gon joined the team to explore the Dark Continent, this would give many opportunities for Gon to fight, bond, and work alongside his father, explore an entirely new area, and also meet some new friends and enemies.

6 Can Gon Still Use Nen?

Gon and Killua using Nen in Hunter x Hunter

In the manga, it is explained that at the beginning of the Dark Continent arc, Gon cannot use Nen anymore. However, since the anime ended at the Election arc, it is currently unknown whether it’s the same case for him. Considering how much the 2011 anime followed the manga’s canon, it will likely follow the same path of Gon being unable to use Nen abilities, but it could still be a fun plot point to explore if the anime ever continued from the Election.

5 Gon Should Fight Wing Once In The Series

Wing in Hunter x Hunter

Wing trained Gon and Killua with using Nen during his time in the series. Assuming that Gon did not lose his Nen in the anime, it is possible that Gon could challenge Wing to a friendly spar or an official match with both of them showing off their Enhancer Nen abilities.

Even if Gon actually did lose his Nen in the manga, it is still possible that he could challenge Wing to a match regardless. No matter who won or lost, it would be an entertaining match for fans to see in action.

4 Gon Could Get To Know The Reincarnated Kite

Chimera Ant Girl Kite with Gon Hunter x Hunter

Kite, though they initially died during the Chimera Ant arc, is revealed to be reincarnated into a Chimera Ant by the time of the Election arc. Even though Kite might not be the same person that they once were, they still retain all of the past Kite’s memories. It would also help Gon cope further with Kite’s past death if they took some time to get to know each other again, and they could potentially go on adventures together as well.

3 Gon Should Get Involved In Taking Down The Phantom Troupe For Good

Though Gon and his friends have fought the Phantom Troupe in the past, the Phantom Troupe is still fairly active in the series despite losing various members, like Pakunoda.

Gon could potentially encounter them again in the future and take them down for good this time. This could especially be the case if they prove to be a threat to him, his friends, or the rest of the world like the Chimera Ants were.

2 Gon Should Become A Hunter Examiner

Considering Gon’s past experience in the Hunter Exam and his incredible growth since then, it could be possible that Gon could become an examiner and survey new examinees in the background. It would be fun for fans to see what it’s like to work on the examiner side, rather than just participating. Considering how life-threatening it can be for people to take the exam, it made some fans wonder what it’s like to be part of the people testing those examinees to begin with. Gon being an examiner in some form would be an interesting concept to explore.

1 Gon Could Catch Up With Biscuit

Even though Biscuit got to catch up with Gon a little bit during the Election arc since the events of Greed Island, it would be nice for Biscuit and Gon to have an opportunity to catch up with each other again, and potentially work together on a mission. Whether it be fighting foes, exploring new paces like the Dark Continent, or perhaps just taking some time to relax and hang out, it would be fun to see these two reunite, especially with Killua leaving Gon’s side.
