10 Strongest DC Villains Jean Grey Could Beat

[ad_1]

Jean Grey is the patron saint of the X-Men. Professor Xavier’s first student, she’s an Omega class telepath and telekinetic, making her one of mutantkind’s most powerful members. She’s supremely skilled in the use of her mental powers and has long been among the X-Men’s most potent forces. In fact, Jean Grey can usually handle just about any threat the team faces entirely on her own.

Jean Grey has made a difference against some of the most dangerous villains ever, defending her fellows against threats that otherwise would have destroyed them. While some of DC’s villains would challenge her, some of the strongest would fall before her mental might.

10 Jean Grey Would Make Short Work Of The Joker

The Joker 9 Variant Header

The Joker is one of the deadliest villains in any comic universe. His entire life is based around fomenting chaos and getting the resources to do so. He’s proven to be a challenge for some of the greatest heroes out there. His mind is an impenetrable maze that has bewildered some of DC’s strongest telepaths, but Jean Grey would be more than up to the Joker’s challenge.

Grey is on another level compared to the telepathic talents of DC’s heroes, and even though the Joker’s mind would catch her off guard, she could deal with it. Even if she couldn’t, her telekinetic powers are more than up to the task of defeating the Joker.

9 Lex Luthor’s Brain Would Be Putty In Jean Grey’s Hand

Lex Luthor Stands Over Metropolis.

Lex Luthor is a shrewd man. He often finds himself working with some of the most dangerous people on the planet and he’s not going to be dumb enough to leave things to chance. He almost certainly has some potent telepathic defenses, but they’re not going to save him from Jean’s powers.

Jean Grey is on another level from the mental talents that Luthor needs to protect himself from. She’s busted through some powerful defenses in the past and if she couldn’t with Luthor, her telekinesis would level the playing field. It’s powerful enough to level mountains and she has the control to manipulate molecules. Luthor can’t stand up to that kind of power.

8 Cyborg Superman Would Be A Grave Challenge For Jean Grey But She Would Triumph

cyborg superman arrives on apokolips

Cyborg Superman has proven himself to be one of the DC Universe’s most dangerous villains. Obsessed with his own death, he doesn’t care who he takes with him and is extremely powerful. The cybernetic nature of his mind would make it hard for Grey’s telepathy to work against him, but her telekinesis will do just fine.

Jean’s in a lot of danger in this fight, as Cyborg Superman is strong enough to challenge Kryptonians and Green Lanterns. However, Jean has made a life of triumphing over long odds and her telekinesis is a potent offensive and defensive weapon. As powerful as Cyborg Superman is, Jean Grey would be able to turn that against him and win the fight against all odds.

7 The Batman Who Laughs’ Mind Would Be Putty In Jean Grey’s Hands

The Batman Who Laughs - Laughing.

The Batman Who Laughs proved himself to be a savage villain, eventually endangering the entire multiverse. He always won because he knew his opponents like the back of his hand. This isn’t something that would be possible against Jean Grey. He knows nothing about her or her weaknesses and her powers are tailor-made for beating him.

While the Batman Who Laughs would certainly have some kind of mental defense, the caliber of telepath he’s used to dealing with is way below Jean Grey. She’d smash through whatever defenses he has rather easily while defending herself from his attacks with her telekinesis. There’s even a chance she could have fixed the Joker virus damage to his brain.

6 Doctor Psycho And Jean Grey Would Have An Epic Mental War

Wonder Woman tends to fight the same villains over and over. Doctor Psycho is one of her greatest challenges, as his mental might tests her in ways other villains don’t. As powerful as Doctor Psycho is, Jean Grey has battled telepaths who leave him in the dust. She’s an amazing mental talent and Psycho wouldn’t be able to abuse her mind like he has others.

Psycho has never faced a telepath of Jean’s caliber in a mental duel. Her powers vastly overshadow his and she would take exception to the way he treats women. Jean would have a good time slowly flaying his mind.

5 Jean Grey Would Expertly Shut Down Reverse-Flash

Reverse Flash Stands Victorious.

Reverse-Flash’s mastery of the Negative Speed Force makes him a deadly villain, as all of history is open to his tampering. Reverse-Flash is superlatively fast, but Jean can perceive threats at the speed of thought and that’s going to make all the difference. She’ll sense his hatred and with that forewarning she’d get to work.

As powerful as Reverse-Flash is, he has no defenses against someone like Jean Grey. She can use her telepathy to destroy his perception of the things around him, making his superspeed dangerous to him. She can trap him a mental loop, effectively paralyzing him. She could telekinetically batter him into submission. She has all the cards in this fight.

4 Grail’s Power Won’t Save Her From Jean Grey

Grail was introduced during “The Darkseid War” and has been battling it out with Wonder Woman and working with her father Darkseid ever since. Grail is a powerful opponent but it’s all physical power; this is going to make this battle a grave mismatch for the Apokoliptian New God. Jean Grey is an expert at dealing with threats like her.

Even if Grail has mental defenses that cancel out Jean’s telepathy, she wouldn’t be able to stand up to Jean’s telekinesis. Jean could protect herself from Grail’s attacks and hit her offensively with flabbergasting power. It wouldn’t be an easy win but it would still be a win.

3 Starro Couldn’t Conquer Jean Grey

Flash, Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman fight Starro

The Justice League fights all kinds of dangerous foes, and Starro is one of their biggest challenges. The world-conquering alien has challenged the entire team many times, so it seems improbable that Jean would be able to beat it, but her telepathic powers could handle whatever Starro threw at her. Even if one of its drones got control of her, she has a lot of experience beating mental domination.

The drones are all connected to the Conqueror, so she could use them as a mental attack vector on the alien. Once she enters Starro’s mind, Jean would beat the beast from within, using her mental expertise to win the day.

2  Despero Is Completely Outclassed By Jean Grey

Despero comes to the Arrowverse in The Flash.

Despero is one of the Justice League’s greatest threats. He’s strong enough physically to tackle the team’s toughest members and his mental powers add immensely to his threat. This is something he has in common with Jean, as her telekinesis gives her physical power and her telepathy makes her a mental threat. Where they differ is power level.

Jean Grey’s telepathy is stronger than Despero’s and she’s much more skilled with it. A battle between the two would see them fighting in the physical and mental worlds but in the end, Jean Grey would triumph over the alien conqueror.

1 Granny Goodness’s Brutality Wouldn’t Be A Match For Jean Grey’s Power

Granny Goodness is one of Darkseid’s greatest servants in his war against New Genesis. The trainer of the Female Furies, she’s known for brutally molding her charges in the Armaghetto into Darkseid’s greatest soldiers. Her old age may make her seem fragile but she hasn’t lost a step and her skill with her mega rod makes her a frightening foe.

Granny Goodness is an extremely dangerous enemy, and Jean Grey would know that immediately. She’d not hold back against the aged titan, putting everything she had into battling Granny. Even then it would be a tough battle but Jean Grey would triumph.
