Carnage is one of Spider-Man’s scariest villains. Cletus Kasady loved killing before he ever got his symbiote and that only intensified after gaining it. His body count increased exponentially, and he’s proven to be a match for some of the toughest heroes around. He’s remarkably hard to keep down, as his symbiote doesn’t have the same weaknesses as others, and his ability to shape it into weapons gives him a lot of killing power.
While there are definitely some DC villains that would destroy Carnage, there are just as many formidable villains out there who would fall to his homicidal rage.
10 Joker Wouldn’t Stand A Chance Against Carnage
The Joker and Carnage would be much better friends than combatants. They have a lot in common regarding their desire for bloodshed but where they differ is in their ability. Sure, the Joker is ridiculously skilled and tough, but he’s not going to be able to stand up to a Carnage attack. Even with henchmen, he doesn’t really have a prayer.
While Joker has been known to have flamethrowers around, he doesn’t always. Even if he did, Carnage isn’t going to try to tank those kinds of attacks. He can be crafty when he needs to be, so even if Joker is accidentally ready for him, Carnage will slaughter him.
9 Deadshot Doesn’t Carry The Right Weaponry To Take Down Carnage
Deadshot is one of the toughest mercenaries on the planet, making a name for himself fighting Batman and with the Suicide Squad. He’s a crack shot and a tough hand-to-hand fighter, neither of which are going to help him against Carnage. If it isn’t sonics, flames, or electricity, it’s not hurting Carnage, and Deadshot isn’t known for having those kinds of weapons.
Even if he did, Carnage is used to fighting Spider-Man, so he’s not known for standing still in a fight. Deadshot is good, but he’s not going to be able to do any damage to Carnage, whereas Carnage can quickly end him.
8 Catman Is Tougher Than He Gets Credit For But Not Tough Enough
Catman is the kind of DC villain who seems pretty lame, but he’s tough as nails. His time with the Secret Six put him back on the map, and he proved to be a versatile and skilled combatant. While he always tried to pattern himself after Batman, he doesn’t have the same resources or skill level, which will be a problem against Carnage.
Catman is just a normal human, and while he has some tricks up his sleeve, they aren’t going to be enough against Carnage. He’s overshadowed in every way, and Carnage would make mincemeat out of him before he came up with a plan of action.
7 Ra’s al Ghul Would Experience Death Again At Carnage’s Hands
Ra’s al Ghul is one of the most dangerous men in the world. The lord of the League of Assassins, the Lazarus Pits have extended his life and given him enhanced physical attributes. He’s a master planner, and only the best heroes have stopped his genocidal schemes. While he and his minions are certainly more skilled than Carnage, that’s not going to help.
While there’s no doubt that Ra’s and the League have weapons that could affect Carnage, they won’t be readily available, and there’s a chance no one would think to use those kinds of weapons. Carnage would easily carve through the League and defeat Ra’s in combat, letting the quasi-immortal taste death once again.
6 Solomon Grundy’s Stronger But That Won’t Save Him
Solomon Grundy is one of DC’s strongest henchmen. He’s amazingly strong and follows orders completely, mostly because he isn’t smart enough to think of anything else. In strength alone, he has Carnage beat but the thing about Grundy is strength is all he has. That’s not going to help very much against Carnage.
Carnage is a slippery opponent, and he’ll make things very difficult on Grundy. He can take Grundy’s hits and rip him apart thanks to his symbiote enhanced attacks, chopping him down to size like firewood and sending him back to Slaughter Swamp for resurrection.
5 Deathstroke Wouldn’t Have Time To Figure Out How To Beat Carnage
Deathstroke has beat a lot of heroes, and while part of that is his strength and skill, the biggest factor is how good he is at planning. Deathstroke is great at making a plan and sticking to it. He’s also prepared for a lot of eventualities. Given enough time, there’s no reason why Deathstroke wouldn’t be able to figure out a way to defeat Carnage.
He would just never have that kind of time. Carnage is not a take-things-slow kind of villain. He strikes quickly and brutally, which is going to take away Deathstroke’s greatest attribute. Deathstroke isn’t strong or fast enough to hold him off, which would lead to a messy death for him.
4 Monsieur Mallah’s Savagery Wouldn’t Save Him
Monsieur Mallah is one DC’s most dangerous apes. Acting as muscle for his lover the Brain, Mallah has faced off against the Doom Patrol and the Teen Titans. He’s strong and well-armed, but none of that will help him against Carnage. While his strength and animalistic tendencies have served him well against many, he’s more than met his match in Carnage.
Carnage is easily stronger than Mallah and much, much more savage. Mallah has never faced anyone like Carnage before. The symbiotic psychopath would take great pleasure in cutting the ape down to size.
3 Mr. Freeze’s Armor And Freeze Ray Won’t Save Him
Mr. Freeze is one of Batman’s most tragic villains, but that doesn’t stop him from being one of the most dangerous. His armor gives him super strength, and his freeze ray is a great weapon. While he has a range advantage over Carnage, ice isn’t one of the things that Carnage is vulnerable to. Even if Freeze was able to hit Carnage, there’s no guarantee he’d stay frozen.
The problem, of course, is hitting Carnage. He’s not going to be an easy target, and he’s much stronger and faster than Freeze is used to dealing with. He’d be on the icy villain quickly and have his armor torn apart before Freeze knew what hit him.
2 Bane’s Planning Skills Won’t Save Him From Carnage
Bane is one of Batman’s greatest foes, all because of his remarkable planning skills. His Venom enhanced strength is a plus, but Bane wins because he can enmesh the Dark Knight in webs of plans that are nearly impossible to escape from. If Bane had any information on Carnage, he’d have a chance, but he’d have to survive their first encounter.
That would be impossible. Bane isn’t ready for someone like Carnage. Even with Venom, he isn’t nearly strong enough to stand against Carnage. He’d give it his all but would end up sliced to ribbons and bleeding out.
1 Vandal Savage Has The Resources But Not The Knowledge
Vandal Savage is one DC’s most dangerous immortals. He has spent millennia fighting battles and gathering resources, so he undoubtedly has weapons that would work against Carnage. However, like with many other intelligent villains, he won’t know what he needs to use against Carnage quickly enough to make any difference.
Even with henchmen to throw at Carnage, it wouldn’t slow the mass murderer down long enough to make a difference. In the end, Vandal Savage would finally meet death at the hands of Carnage, something that he more than likely never thought possible.
