10 Most Powerful Members Of Night Raid, Ranked

[ad_1]

Akame Ga Kill is an anime that follows a group of assassins attempting to take down their corrupt government, and those assassins band together under the name Night Raid. Each member of Night Raid plays a fairly critical role in its operations, and all of them have a Teigu, or an Imperial Arms, a powerful weapon that belongs exclusively to the person wielding it. Together, the members of Night Raid form a highly effective team.

However, even if the group is a force to be reckoned with when working in unison, its members still have individual skill sets, some of which are far more powerful than others.

Updated on October 18th, 2021 by Claris Lam: This article has been updated to fix information that had become out of date since the original list was published, as well as make a few other adjustments to bring the content up to our current standards.

10 Najenda Is A Great Strategist But Is Not As Good With Combat

It’s hard to place Najenda on a power scale because, while she isn’t necessarily the greatest member of Night Raid when it comes to physical combat, she is the group’s leader. Functioning as the brain behind Night Raid’s operations is not an easy feat. Najenda is powerful in terms of strategizing and using her influence over others to her advantage.

But, even with her amazing sense of strategy, Najenda still often needs the other members of the group to step in and help her in a fight, making her the least powerful in terms of strength.

9 Sheele Wields A Giant Pair Of Scissors As A Weapon But Is The First Member To Die

Sheele is one of the first Night Raid members to die in both the manga and the anime, and so fans don’t get to see her in action all that much. We do get one or two scenes, however, that show off her strength, and you’d certainly have a hard time defeating her when she’s wielding her Teigu, a huge pair of scissors that she seems to have no problem using as a weapon.

Outside of using her scissors, though, Sheele does not appear to have any particular affinity for combat. Sure, she’s quick and strong—just like everyone in Night Raid is—but her physical combat skills are nowhere near characters like Leone or Akame.

8 Chelsea Can Shapeshift But Not Much Else

Much like Najenda, Chelsea is a difficult member to place when considering Night Raid’s power scale. While Chelsea could be considered average in terms of physical strength, her Imperial Arms allows her to shapeshift— and that’s an impressive and handy power if there ever was one.

Unfortunately, her shapeshifting seems to be Chelsea’s only true ability, and it’s something she’s entirely dependent on during her tenure on the series. Without the element of surprise, Chelsea doesn’t manage to do much damage because she has little combat skill to back up her actions.

7 Lubbock Has Useful Threads

Lubbock is another member of Night Raid who doesn’t especially stand out for his combat skills alone, but he does have a rather useful Imperial Arms. He uses the Imperial Arms to his advantage on multiple occasions throughout the series. His Teigu, which is called “Infinite Use: Cross Tail” forms a series of wire threads that could be used both offensively and defensively in battle.

Lubbock’s threads get the groups out of quite a few pinches over the course of the series, and they do help him when it comes to one-on-one fights. That said, without his Teigu, it’s questionable just how powerful Lubbock is.

6 Mine Held Her Own Against Empire Cronies

Mine doesn’t necessarily look like much at first glance, but she is one of the fiercest members of Night Raid. Her ability to wield her Teigu, a huge blaster named Pumpkin, is impressive. While Mine’s abilities do shift from battle to battle, she’s more than proved herself capable of handling strong opponents. Viewers witnessed Mine hold her own against the Empire’s cronies, including Esdeath, and not many people can boast of that.

However,, even with all of the fights we see Mine in, it’s rare to see the girl in hand-to-hand combat. It is also unlikely she can hold her own without Pumpkin for as long as characters like Leone or Akame would be able to.

5 Leone Is One Of The Strongest Fighters

As far as brute strength goes, Leone is one of the strongest fighters in Night Raid. Her Imperial Arms, which is a belt she wears, gives her enhanced speed, strength, reflexes; basically everything you could want on the battlefield.  Leone’s Imperial Arms also grants her the strength to regenerate, and there’s really no more powerful ability than that.

Add in Leone’s quick thinking and talent for swindling people (Tatsumi knows all about the latter), and she truly is a force to be reckoned with. It’s a wonder that Leone didn’t survive the series with her strength. Then again, not many of the characters managed to do so either.

4 Bulat’s Appearance Was Brief But Powerful

Much like Sheele and Chelsea, Bulat isn’t around long to prove his strength on Night Raid. However, Bulat’s final battle is such an impressive feat that it’s impossible not to acknowledge it.

Before he passes his place in the group— and his Teigu— onto Tatsumi, Bulat takes on and defeats some of the Empire’s most skilled warriors, and he does this while poisoned and struggling, managing to prove his skill even in his final moments.

3 Susanoo Is A Living Weapon

Most of the members of Night Raid depend on their Imperial Arms to grant them power or at least boost the abilities they already have. Susanoo, on the other hand, is an Imperial Arms, one of the rare Teigu that is simultaneously an organic being.

And, being a living weapon, it’s probably no surprise that Susanoo ranks so high when pitted against the other members of Night Raid. Even Esdeath acknowledges his strength after defeating him, and that honor isn’t something to take lightly.

2 Tatsumi Defeated The Emperor At The Cost Of His Life

Tatsumi is the member of Night Raid who comes the farthest over the course of the series, shifting from a relatively innocent country boy to a more hardened assassin. That journey alone led to a big improvement in terms of ability. Before Tatsumi began training with Night Raid, he already had an impressive talent for fighting many amazing battles. He even takes down a huge monster during the first episode of the series, demonstrating speed and strength even before he arrives at the Capitol.

Once Tatsumi does begin training and inherits Bulat’s Teigu, he truly becomes a skilled warrior. He even defeated the Emperor and save the innocent bystanders of the Capitol on his own, an act that does, sadly, cost him his life in the end.

1 Akame Has Superior Combat Abilities

Given that the anime is named after her, it is not a surprise that Akame is the most skilled member of Night Raid. She is the focal point of the entire series, after all, and one of the only assassins who lives to see the Empire’s demise.

Akame’s power can, at least partially, be attributed to her upbringing. Having been sold to the Empire and trained to become one of its assassins, Akame has superior combat abilities even without her Imperial Arms, a sword that can essentially kill opponents in one hit. On top of that, Akame’s sword makes her even faster and stronger when she cuts herself with it. She used this ability to her advantage to defeat Esdeath, which further proved as is that Akame is the most powerful.
