Love and romance are common themes found in almost any Anime. No matter the genre or the plot of the story, there is nearly always a romantic subplot accompanying it. While some characters meet and find true love, others aren’t so lucky. There is often a character who, unbeknownst to the protagonist, has pined for them since the beginning.
They are usually too shy to confess their feelings or know deep down that they will never feel the same. In some cases, even the protagonist themself has suffered these unrequited feelings. What they almost always share in common, though, is despite the rejection of their feelings, they never stop supporting the one they love.
