Some characters are so strong they can move mountains and destroy planets. However, some anime characters are weak and win simply by chance and circumstance.
There are plenty of anime characters with little to no power of their own, but they still manage to consistently wind up on top. From characters who lie about their abilities to characters who use other skills to win effortlessly, several anime heroes win despite doing nothing to deserve it.

King is one of the most beloved characters of the show. His position as the greatest hero despite being powerless is entertaining. In fact, his success is almost completely due to Saitama. Everyone believed Saitama’s victories were King’s.
King is a coward who narrowly escapes death because of his impressive, but fake reputation. He’s never been in a serious fight, and this makes his position in the world of heroes hilarious to viewers.

While Zenitsu does fight, he isn’t the same person when he’s awake. Zenitsu’s fear renders him incapable of fighting until he passes out. Once he does fall asleep he effectively becomes a fearless person, unlike his conscious self.
Sleeping Zenitu slays demons and keeps others safe. Conscious Zenitsu would never be accepted into the Demon Slayer Corps as he does nothing but run and hide.

Shikamaru spent a lot of his time sitting on the sidelines directing others on how to attack. While he still provided support with his jutsu, there were many times where he couldn’t engage in close combat and no choice but to watch his friends in battle.

Koro-sensei was a monster that had seemingly unending power and strategy. He could wriggle out of any situation former students, turned would-be-assassins tried to throw at him. Koro-sensei challenged his students to kill him. He was destined to destroy the world, so someone had to stop him.
Koro-sensei’s challenge encourages his students to succeed, but Koro-sensei was invincible. While Koro-sensei didn’t launch offensive attacks, he certainly didn’t go down without a fight. Stopping his students was usually pretty simple for him anyway.

Mikado Ryugamine was the secret leader of the Dollars, a “gang” that existed mostly in a virtual capacity. Mikado, never got involved in turf wars or dangerous sword fights like his classmates Kida Masaomi and Anri Sonohara. The Dollars mainly online presence helped him remain inactive.
Throughout the series, Mikado is a relatively boring character lacking the luster that the other characters of the series seem to have – until his secret is revealed.

Light Yagami’s power did not come from within, though his high intelligence did see him through most of the tough situations he got himself into. Instead, his power came from the Shinigami, specifically Ryuk, who dropped the Death Note on Earth for Light to find.
Light never really did anything throughout the series, he used the Death Note for everything. Light only wrote names down and plotted to himself. He lost in the end, but he had a consistent and undefeated win streak for years.

Though fans never see Arcangelo do anything, he always seemed to be on top of the bachelor boards. He usurped Kaz’s place in the ranking time and time again without doing more than appearing in places at inconvenient times. On top of that, he was completely oblivious to the intricacies of demon-killing and the other magistocrat duties.

The black-haired girl in The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl, only chased after experiences. She wanted to have fun, make friends, and drink alcohol. So, when various shenanigans and antics happen around her, she bumbled through them without a second thought.
Most of the time, things just happened to work out for her, she moved from place to place on a whim. She barley noticed half of the weird things that happened to her and other characters. She remained nonchalant and unfazed throughout most of the series.
1 Ash Ketchum Has His Pokémon Do Everything For Him
Ash Ketchum is a kid who wants to be the greatest Pokémon trainer he can be. However, in the world of Pokémon, most of the characters rely on the strength of their Pokémon rather than their own ability. Ironically, as a Pokemon trainer he doesn’t put much work into training his Pokémon.
In the original series, he can barely handle Pikachu and Charizard. Fans rarely see him do more than make his Pokémon fight. Ash is not completely useless without his Pokémon, but he frequently makes terrible choices. While Ash does not always win his battles, he always saves the day.
